The Solution For Working Parents®
Our goal is to ease the stresses of busy, working parents. We know the challenges you face and recognize that in addition to your child needing a high-quality education and nurturing care, you have needs, too! For this reason, we developed industry-leading programs including ParentView® Internet monitoring and an e-Communication app providing a real-time and ongoing connection throughout the day. Parents experience peace of mind with our gold standard for health & safety, extended hours, back-up care, nutritious snacks and meal plans, extracurricular activities, and even occasional evening babysitting for parents to enjoy a night out!
More Than A Daycare Center
The term "daycare" is often used interchangeably to mean a babysitting service. This is not Lightbridge Academy; we are so much more than just a daycare! We play a transformative role in the lives of families and we take this very seriously. Our proprietary early childhood education curriculum impacts the "whole" child in a multitude of ways. By embracing every moment as another opportunity to learn, all developmental areas are met, unlocking every child's potential including academic success. Our state-of-the-art child care center provides a professional yet nurturing home-away-from-home environment where you and your child will feel comfortable.
Isn't this what you envision for your family?

Review: We had a bad experience. Our daughter was 1 years old and because it was just past her 1 yr birthday, they said she had to be in the toddler room that only does 1 nap per day (she was still on a 2 nap schedule). It made her miserable... she was exhausted laying down on the floor tired and crying all morning, and the teachers were too busy and overwhelmed to help or comfort her at all (they were working hard but the daycare was clearly understaffed). We also had to call to complain about there not being enough teachers in the classroom for the amount of children. My daughter has a serious allergy and I found that the teachers were also constantly rotating and were not familiar with the kids, it made me very nervous that no one was paying attention to her allergy at meal time. We only kept her in the program 3 days before pulling her out because it made us too uncomfortable. Amenities: Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? More consistent teachers, a higher ratio of teacher to child, and allowing for children to nap according to whatever they are developmentally ready for. Reasons stated above in my review.Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: We’ve sent our twins for 2 days a week since they were 16mo. At first we all loved it. The school is fairly new, however, and they’ve had growing pains. Not enough staff & issues with overcrowding in classrooms as kids age. They separated the twins when they were 2yrs8mo because my son wouldn’t potty train and my daughter would. He’s been kept in a classroom with children a year younger than him. Recently they had a small flood and were closed by the DOH, mostly due to staffing issues. They’ve been closed for almost a month. We were lucky to find a place originally who had immediate space for twins but I wouldn’t keep them there if I had other options. The teachers are mostly great but admin is frequently unresponsive which is frustrating. Amenities: Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? I’d love them to spend more time outside and for the administration to be more responsive overall.Best daycares in Prospect Heights?
My son also attends Lightbridge academy in prospect heights. We are very happy there. I had a few issues with the communication with administrators at first but once it was addressed they seemed to be more transparent with information. Overall we are glad that we made the choice to send him there.Best daycares in Prospect Heights?
We had posed this question to the group about a year ago and after touring many places chose Lightbridge Academy. I really liked their facility, owners and approach and our daughter was extremely happy there.Review from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey
Location: Prospect heights Type of facility: Daycare, Preschool Review: My son has only been at Lightbridge for two months so far, but we have had a positive experience. The teachers and staff are very warm and comforting to the students. They have tried to help my son as much as that could through his new transition to school, from being home with mom everyday. He only goes to the school twice a week, but I can see a difference in him socially and with his language. He was born in 2020, and is a true pandemic baby. The teachers also give him the space that he needs to grow and be his own little individual. The school has an app which is helpful in communicating with the teachers and I receive daily updates and pictures of my sons activities throughout the day. What would you change about the program, if anything? Nothing yet, We have only been attending for two months. Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? I feel very comfortable with the safety at the school, the doors work with a facial scanning technology. Daily temperature checks are done as well during the facial scan. The teachers wear masks, but I’m not sure if they require Covid-19 vaccinations.Review from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey
Location: 243 St. Mark's Place in Prospect Heights Type of facility: Daycare Review: Pros: Communication -- - They have an app with a running log of every detail throughout the day, photos and videos. - The app also lists the activities and lessons planned for the week. - The app is also for two-way communication with the teachers. - You can sign up for camera access to the classroom. - The administration is friendly and approachable. - The school is clean and big. - They take the kids for walks almost every day. Cons: - I feel less love for the kids than in other schools. - The tour was also a bit cheesy and insincere when we went. We chose this daycare because they had availability when we needed it. What amenities does the facility have? Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, Has camera access What would you change about the program, if anything? They don't always stick to the lesson plans (we've had to nudge), and we'd like teachers that show a little more love and warmth. (Some teachers are great, though!) Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? Excellent protocols.Struggling to get daycares near Prospect Heights to respond! Advice please!
Our kiddo is at Lightbridge Academy on St. Marks between Vanderbilt and Underhill (basically next to Ample Hills) and we love it! Their facility is brand-new / opened last Spring and we have only wonderful things to say about the entire team (teachers, administrators, and owners). Everyone is so warm and welcoming and they are willing to do whatever they can to work with each of their families when needs/changes arise.Tiny Steps vs. Lightbridge
I have a son that recently started at Lightbridge this week. He just turned 2 last month and this is his first experience in a daycare/preschool setting. He is definitely still adjusting, but I have found that the staff members are very kind and patient with us, I really appreciate the communication between the teachers and parents. I can give you more feedback in the weeks to come but so far, we are happy at Lightbridge.Review from the Fall 2021 Early Childhood Education Survey
Type of facility: Daycare Review: My 14-month old has been at Lightbridge for almost 2 months. We absolutely adore the teachers and caregivers there. The amenities offered for parents and children can't be beat, in my opinion. They offer Parent View, which is essentially a live stream of your child during the day. There is an app where I can contact any and all of the teachers and administrators, I can easily let them know when I'm a few minutes from dropping off my son, or picking him up. They offer organic lunch, they take them outside quite a bit, depending on the weather, and I'm updated with photos and videos throughout the day via their app. They also actually teach the children, based off a curriculum that they share with parents. Since it opened up in spring of 2021, all the rooms and equipment are in brand new and great condition, and they let me know the space is thoroughly cleaned every evening, in addition to regular cleaning throughout the day. We love how spacious and light filled their space is, even though lots of the room don't have windows to the outdoors. Take a tour and go see for yourself! What amenities does the facility provide? Has early morning hours What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? It is pricey, but comparable to prices for daycare in the neighborhood.Review from the 2020–2021 Daycare, Preschool, Pre-K, and K Survey
Review: My kid was home with his two parents for the first almost 1.5 years of his life because of covid curveballs. Luckily, the team at Lightbridge were amazing and helped him adjust and feel comfortable with daycare from the very first moment he walked in the door. Only a couple of weeks in and he barely even said goodbye to his parents because he was so excited to be at school with his friends and amazing teachers and staff! He loves the program and the interactions with staff and peers. We are so happy to have our son with people we trust! Facility amenities: Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, Currently offers snack, will be offering a meal option in coming months What would you change about the program? Just waiting for their meal plan to become available, so I can stop preparing lunches from home (but it's okay, I know it's coming within the next few months)!Lightbridge Daycare
Belinda (one of the owners) and the entire team have been extremely warm, welcoming and really willing to work with families on our needs, especially as they've been getting up to full speed. E., my 18-month old, reaches for the staff member at the door greeting us with excitement and happily waves goodbye to us at the door. Later parents, get outta my face! He's clearly happy there:)Lightbridge Daycare
My 18 month old has been at Lightbridge since they opened in April. There have been a few bumps getting things up and running, nothing safety concerning, stuff like nap schedule and snacks. But we've found them to be really communicative and happy to work with us throughout, which I've found very comforting. My daughter loves all the women who work there and they love her too (she excitedly shows them her outfit every day when I pick her up, they have a little game together), and her teacher Ms. Destiny is really lovely and on top of things. I wish they had their own outdoor space, but they do take the kids outside and around the neighborhood a lot, to the playground, to play with sidewalk chalk, at least when the weather is better than it is today :)Lightbridge Daycare
My now 13-month-old daughter started 3 days a week at Lightbridge in May and she has been so happy there. They are still working out the flow in terms of what teachers will permanently be in what rooms, and the administrators have changed, but we have had good communication with everyone and our daughter is so happy to go there in the morning. She runs in the door! They have been great about personalizing her plan as we work towards her napping in a cot. She has personalized attention and only a few kids in her class - a benefit of starting there right when they opened. I know they are expecting more kids in the fall.
