Shout out to Les Petits Bilingues
Hi everyone! I wanted to give a shout out to Les Petits Bilingues on 6th Ave near 10th Street. My 3 year old daughter attended last year (and before that, she was in the younger kid's school, La Maternelle) and she was so happy to go back today after the end-of-August break. I think the biggest reason is that the teachers at both schools are so warm and loving. The owner/director Miley is so caring and regularly invites parents to holiday parties and special parent-mornings. They send updates and pictures/videos throughout the day. There are weekly themes that they use to plan the daily songs, books, and art projects, and there is a great backyard area with a play structure and plenty of space for water tables and toys in the hot weather. The instruction is in French... We don't speak French, but we love to hear her sing to herself in French! And she clearly understands when our neighbors speak to her in French... although she's too shy to respond :) All in all, we couldn't be happier with LPB and I wanted to share it with other parents considering schools for their younger kids.Feedback on Pre-K at Les Petits Bilingues de New York
We have sent our 3 year old daughter to LPB for about a year now. She previously attended the school for younger children (La Maternelle), starting around age 1.5. We (her parents) don't speak French, although I remember a bit from my high school days. I can't say enough positive things about the owner Miley and the teachers at the school. They are so warm and caring. Despite the fact that our daughter is in general very clingy and anxious to be away from us, it is clear that she loves school and her teachers. They send regular updates during the day on meals, potty, naps, and often a picture too (which provides a lift in my day). They center the art projects and books around a weekly theme and also have weekly yoga, music, and cooking. Our neighbors will speak to our daughter in French and it is clear that she understands (although she is too shy to respond). She sings songs from the school in French and sometimes words in French will pop out by accident ("no, mommy, comme ça!). All in all, we are very positive about LPB!Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey
Location: 463 6th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215 How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 3 Review: Camp was great, kids were taken through a theme each week and doing a lot of activities around the theme. There is a good mix of dancing / cooking / arts & crafts / recess What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Having a bigger backyard or doing outings in the park could be great (not easy to organize though)Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: This is a wonderful daycare, preschool, and aftercare program. They offer an enriching environment in both French and English that has really allowed my child to blossom. His social and play skills have really exploded since attending this school and he has made a lot of friends. The care and compassion teachers offer is evident every day and communication is fairly good. There is an app that send parents pictures and information about how much food has been eaten and if diapers are wet or if your child has used the potty. Once a week kids do yoga with an instructor and once a month there is someone who comes in to play an instrument and lead a music class. There is a playground outside in back so there is lots of outdoor time. The classes also go for walks in the neighborhood and occasionally go on field trips to the library. I can’t speak highly enough of this school. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Provides mealsReview from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: Les Petits Bilingues de New York is a fantastic bilingual preschool in Park Slope and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Miley who runs the school is fantastic and all of the teachers and caregivers are wonderfully supportive and attentive. The curriculum is varied and keeps the kids engaged with lots of arts, science, and even weekly cooking projects. They also have weekly yoga, dance and music. The school administrators have created a lovely community for the parents with in class readings, fun events and gatherings, and they even offer a monthly date night for an additional fee. The space is bright and airy and they have a great playground in the backyard. If I had to do it all over again I would not hesitate to send my daughter there. She has truly thrived at Les Petits! Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Nothing!Les Petits Bilingues De New York
My son has been attending this school since he turned 2 in October 2022 and was in Bijou de Miley prior to this. We have had a wonderful experience with this school. The teachers are kind, compassionate, and caring. They create a comprehensive curriculum teaching different age appropriate topics while focusing on socio-emotional learning. My son’s social skills, language skills (both expressive and receptive), play skills have all blossomed so much this school year. He loves going to school and has bonded with all the teachers here and made great friends. The teachers and Miley have fostered such a wonderful environment for kids to thrive in. We are not French or French speaking and my son is never lost at school and has learned some French too! We love this school. Can’t recommend it enough.Full-Day French-Language Summer Camp
