Leona is a wonderful child therapist and a true gem. We were referred to her by a friend when our son was having some issues with his 'active body' in K, and she was so helpful, both for him (working to find strategies to control his impulses more) and for us (she met with us and gave great parenting feedback)! We ended up having him continue to see her, and us, for several years. I can say without hesitation that Leona was the single most productive, positive and helpful person we have worked with in raising our children (and learning to parent). I highly recommend Dr Leona Jaglom, here in Park Slope. Our 5 year old also exhibits symptoms of depression, anxiety, etc. and she has been very very helpful, and has always taken our son's issues very seriously. We value her immensely. Best of luck. Dr. Jaglom has been a patient, wise and comforting resource to us and our four year old, who has been exhibiting anxiety and behavioral issues. My child, who is adverse to strangers, truly enjoys visiting her, and is taking away much from their sessions together. And I feel so much better having a resource to contact when I'm not sure what to do for my child. We are delighted to have found her. My experience with Leona Jaglom is that she is a miracle worker but you should interview the doctors and see who feels right for your family. No good child therapist will meet with your child without first having a session with you and you will know when it is a good fit because you become a team to help your child.
