Ideas for 11yo Birthday Party in December?
We've done an 11 year old party at Le Frak skating rink and it was lots of fun.Review from the 2022 Party Survey
Lakeside ice skating: Easy to book online, good communication via email in advance of the partyReview from the 2022 Party Survey
Great venue and staff, food was great, expensive but cheaper than most other options I had looked at. Overall we had a great time and kids had fun in the splash pad.Review from the 2022 Party Survey
Everything was wonderful! It was very hot but otherwise it was a great COVID safe option.Birthday parties
We just did my six year olds at LeFrak splash pad and it was great!August birthday party ideas?
We are also going to try the splash pad... I liked the room option because 1) it’s not terribly expensive, 2) the room has easier seating styles for little ones , and 3) if it’s not a beautiful day, at least we have an indoor option... hopefully it will work out! Also, we might invite a few of our own friends without kids (in case a lot of families are traveling), and at least they serve beer/wine. :) (June 2019)Smallest size skate at LeFrak
My experience at LeFrak has been that the kids skates run about 1 size small, so if your child normally takes an 8, you’ll probably want a 9. While I can’t definitely guarantee they have that size, I started taking my daughter skating there at age 2.5 and have never had a problem getting skates in her size. Have fun !Hockey for 6yo?
The program at LeFrak Center in Prospect Park has a number of kids that age. My 14 yr old (absolute novice) did the program there last year and I thought they did a great job of separating our ages and abilities. It is early (8-9am) and outdoors so not so great for the parents.Ice skating classes for 5 year old
our daughter also did two sessions last year and was 5 1/2 at the time, starting as a beginner. She loved them and made great progress. The show they do at end of the season in March is very cute :-) Only downside we have found is that the office isn’t great at email or telephone communication! So I’ve had to pop over in person a couple of times to sort stuff. But a small inconvenience overall.Ice skating classes for 5 year old
My 5yr old did 2 sessions of classes last year at LeFrak and she really enjoyed it and made lots of progress (barely standing on skates >> skating independently around the rink). She did the entry level tots class. We’re planning to go back for more classes this year.2018 Birthday Party Review
For the past couple of years, we rented a party room for my preschool-aged daughter's birthday and we will be doing it again this year. The 2-hour room rental has a $400 catering minimum and 20% service charge, but there is no dedicated room rental fee beyond that. The quality of the catering is top notch and the service charge pays for a dedicated party attendant. The splash pad itself itself is a fantastic activity for the kids and the party room room provides a place for them to relax and eat. The food was catered by the (in-house) Bluestone Cafe, which offers a range of delicious kid-friendly and adult-pleasing options.2018 Birthday Party Review
Communication with the party coordinator was very efficient & straightforward; very easy to set up, personalize, and pay. Ice skating time was plenty, you could do free skating all day long after party is over. Party room was spacious yet cozy and accommodating. I’d add extra party decorations personally next time if we do it again. No balloons allowed. Full list of food catering available from the cafe. Bring your own cake,
