- Review from the 2024 Birthing SurveyKris was also ESSENTIAL! She was our night doula and we 100% trusted her with our newborn son. She is incredibly knowledgeable and gave us excellent tips on sleeping, constipation relief and feeding.
- Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing SurveyPostpartum Caregiver: Kris Bailey Review: Kris offered support to me, my husband, and my baby for ~20 hours spread across the first 4 postpartum months. She primarily offered breastfeeding support at the beginning and later on baby education (including what should be “normal”, how to soothe, developmental stages, sleep, etc.). She’s a very knowledgeable and caring person, and was a source of support during some vulnerable moments. While we didn’t intend to spread out the hours, it ended up working out to have her around as our baby got older and was growing through different developmental stages. Often after our sessions with her, we felt assured and armed with new info or new practices to try. Any advice for people considering hiring a postpartum caregiver? Start early and interview as many as you’re able to get a sense of their approach and if it will fit your wants/needs. Identify what are your priorities for postpartum support - newborn education? Mental support and care? A kind ear and sounding board? Knowing what you’re looking for will help you get the most out of this. After all, it’s an investment of money and (most importantly) precious time.
- Review submitted via the PSP Birth SurveyWe chose Kris, a relatively new doula, because we got such a calm and solid "vibe" from her. She's a mother of two and was kind, accessible, and a good listener. And great at the hard work of labor support! When things deviated from our "plan" she was helpful and flexible and would've advocated as much or as little as we wanted. Based on July 2016 birth experience
