  • Review from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey

Location: 185A 31st street brooklyn ny 11232 Type of facility: Daycare Review: Knock knock daycare is a Latinx-woman owned family daycare. Generations of Puerto Rican New Yorkers that have lived on this block for 50+ years. They’re very involved in the community. The vibe is all love and play. There is outdoor space in the back. The staff to child ratio is great. The communication with me, throughout the day is phenomenal. They have an app called, bright wheel. The caregivers speak Spanish with the kids and they absolutely adore the children. My 16 month old has been there since he was 6 months and he’s healthy, thriving, and developing. I spent a lot of time there observing because at the beginning, I would go in and nurse my son throughout the day through his first six months. It’s a very safe loving space. They accommodate our vegan diet with their daily lunches, they made vegan grilled cheese for my son today. They have a lot of pretend play and they do a lot of sensory activities with the children. I am confident in their security. When the subway shooting happened, I happened to be in the daycare, nursing the baby. I was locked in with them. The daycare workers did a phenomenal job with securing the space while maintaining a calm environment for the children (and me). I was so impressed with how they kept a playful atmosphere while helicopters were flying overhead. Many of my friends and neighbors have sent their children to knockknock. It comes highly recommended. I hope to keep my child there until he’s eligible to go to public prek 3. What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, Accommodates vegan diets and other restrictions
