  • Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey

Dr. Rutenberg is a level-headed high-risk pregnancy specialist who shepherded me through an early scheduled C-section when I developed placenta previa during my first pregnancy and remained open to a VBAC until the very end of my second pregnancy (at which point I was diagnosed with low amniotic fluid and had to go in for another C-section, oh well).
  • 2018 Birth Survey

Dr. Rutenberg is a brilliant OB with lots of experience with high-risk pregnancies. My only complaint is that because she has so many patients, you end up waiting at least half an hour to be seen for appointments, and the appointments are always shorter than the amount of time you waited to be seen!
  • Review submitted via the Park Slope Parents 2017 Birth Survey

Great doc, highly recommend Based on a 10/9/17 birthing experience.
  • Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey

Every step of the way, and that includes a pregnancy that we decided to terminate, Dr. Rutenberg was supportive and direct. Her entire office is extraordinary. My baby was actually birthed by Dr. Polk; she was calm and loving throughout the experience. It couldn't have gone better. Based on a September 2017 birthing experience.
  • OB at Mt Sinai St. Luke's?

Dr Rutenberg in the same office is also great.
  • GHI obgyn recommendations

I highly recommend my OB/GYN Dr. Kathryn Rutenberg with Mt. Sinai. She takes GHI and everyone in the practice is great. They are affiliated with St. Luke's Roosevelt (now Mt Sinai West).
  • [ANONYMOUS] OB/GYN who does gentle c-sections

I'm not familiar with the term "gentle c-section" but had two cesareans with my OB (as well as a subsequent vbac and about to have another) and I highly recommend her as a caring, gentle, and supportive doctor. Katherine Rutenberg at St. Luke's-Roosevelt (now Mt Sinai Roosevelt I think). I can think of many ways that she's helped me over the years, including walking me personally to the hospital and getting me admitted when I had a post op infection and advocating to the head of the department that I have a vba2c even if she wasn't there. Try her.
  • (no subject)

Long wait times in office. She is very pleasant at visits, but despite making a point to have a visit with all the docs in her practice, none of them were on call when I delivered and I was delivered by a stranger. This was a big bummer. She is nice, but seemed disorganized and did not end up being as supportive of natural childbirth as she had led me to believe. (Reviewed 1/10)
