My spouse of many years and I had split up unexpectedly. I was approaching 50 and in the middle of a career change and job search. I began having anxiety attacks, which I had never had before, and couldn't stop crying. Trauma and grief from my childhood that I had handled successfully in therapy in my 20's had come back. Karen helped me through this crisis with wisdom, compassion, acceptance, and deep listening. She asks great questions that really helped me gain perspective. She was utterly non-judgemental including as I wrangled with my sexual orientation and profound feelings of failure around the end of my marriage. She was so helpful as I struggled with how to parent and support my teen. Karen helped re-build my trust in myself as a parent, as a professional as I re-entered the workplace in a new career after several years out of the workforce, and as I re-gained confidence in my newly single life after falling into the utter depths of despair over the end of my marriage. Then, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and it turns out she has specialty knowledge in that area as well. I highly recommend this gifted therapist for short and long-term care, she truly believes in her patients' ability to achieve change and to feel better.
