  • Pediatric ophthalmologist

We also go to Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants, we’ve seen Dr. Julie Nam at the Tribeca location. She’s great.
  • Opthalmologist for Toddler

Our pediatrician recommended Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants and said all of the doctors at the practice were great. We saw Dr. Julie Nam exclusively. She recently performed eye muscle surgery on our son. We cannot speak more highly of her. She was kind, patient, thorough and so much more. We went to the Tribeca location, but there is also a Brooklyn location. I don't know if Dr. Nam has office hours there, but again, our Brooklyn-based pediatrician said all the doctors were great. Our son is still less than 1 year old, but I'm sure they are excellent for toddlers too.
  • Myopia question

His doctor. at Tribeca Pediatrics connected us with a great pediatric ophthalmic practice. https://www.pedseye.com/ They have a couple of locations and the doctors rotate to all of the offices. We have seen two great doctors, Dr. Julie Nam and Dr. Marc Lustig. Both are wonderfully warm and well-credentialed. We have been so grateful to this practice for helping prevent further loss and restore his vision.
  • Pediatric ophthalmologist?

Highly recommend Dr. Nam at Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants in Tribeca.
  • pediatric ophthalmologist?

I highly recommend Pediatric Opthalmic Consultants, who have an office in Tribeca. (I know you were looking for Park Slope, but they're worth the schlep.) My son sees Dr. Nam there, and she is truly fantastic, but we know people who see other doctors in the practice and we all rave about how great it is/they are.
  • ISO: Child eye exam with Child Health Plus

I also second Dr Nam. We had an eye appointment yesterday and she was terrific with our 3.5 year old. We went to their Tribeca location. Plus she was great with me as I was uneasy during the whole process.
  • ISO: Child eye exam with Child Health Plus

Pediatric Opthalmic Associates accepts Child Health Plus - BCBS. My kids see Dr Nam and she’s great. I’m not sure what other Child Health Plus plans they take.
  • Pediatric ophthalmologist?

I second Dr. Julie Nam. We took our toddler to their UWS location and she had so much fun there! Even let them dilate her eyes. I think the doctors there in general are supposed to be great and I got multiple recommendations for Dr. Nam and the practice when I was looking.
  • Pediatric ophthalmologist?

I got a referral to Julie Nam in Tribeca and really liked her!
  • Vision test?

Not directly the same experience, but when our 3.5 year old was one, she failed her vision test (the one where the nurse takes a pic with her phone). She was borderline for amblyopia (i.e. lazy eye) and we were recommended to see a pediatric ophthalmologist. We ended up seeing Dr. Julie Nam at Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants and have nothing but great things to say about her. Long story short, she had a few appointments over the course of a year and the problem cleared up on its own.
  • Recs for pediatric ophthalmologist

We saw dr nam down at pediatric ophthalmic solutions and she was great
  • Strabismus

My daughters eyes started crossing around 2.She wore glasses for a couple of years but she still crossed. At 4 we saw Dr Nam at Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants She is amazing and my daughter had surgery at 4.5.She still wears glasses, and her eyes still cross a little when her glasses are off.She is also farsighted.Let me know if you want anymore info
  • Intermittent Exotropia- surgery?

my daughter was diagnosed with exotropia a year ago when she was slightly over 6 mo. Since the. We have been nearly religiously patching her eyes every day for 1 hr. We saw Dr Julie Nam at the Tribeca office and she didn't recommend the surgery but explained it is an option. Since we started patching my daughter's eyes, she developed much better control of her eye muscles but the condition is still there showing here and there for short periods of time. I would recommend to go see any doctor from the practice Dr Julie Nam and see what they say before going for surgery. Apparently it is quite common for small kids to have exotropia.
  • Child with wandering eyes

My friend’s child had surgery for wandering eyes with Dr. Julie Nam, who my son also sees for another issue. She’s very good if you need a second opinion / surgery consult.
  • ISO: Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Dr. Julie Nam is exceptional. Smart, kind, great with kids.
  • ISO: Pediatric ophthalmologist

We also had good experiences with Julie Nam and Pediatric Opthalmic Associates generally
  • ISO: Pediatric ophthalmologist

I second the recommendation for Dr. Julie Nam. She was absolutely excellent in treating our son, helping us solve a recurring and previously misdiagnosed problem and also helping us track down and secure an appointment with a really specific specialist for urgent, time-sensitive follow up care.
  • ISO: Pediatric ophthalmologist

I cannot recommend Dr. Julie Nam more highly. She is an exceptional doctor. My son (1 year old) has seen her three times - the appointments are on time, thorough, expert, calm and “gold standard” in terms of eye exam and care.
  • [Spring2014Babies] Kids eye doctor recommendation?

I second the recommendation for http://www.pedseye.com/. We go to the Tribeca location and see Dr. Julie Nam who has followed my daughter since she was in the NICU.
  • Pediatric Eye Doctor Update

We go to Dr Julie Nam at Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants and love her and the practice.
  • Pediatric Eye Doctor Update

I highly recommend Dr Julie Nam at pediatric ophthalmic consultants on Reade Street.
  • Summary of recs for pediatric ophthalmologists

We have this and looked around for awhile before finding Julie Nam. She is excellent.
  • Summary of recs for pediatric ophthalmologists

This is a group practice - one of the most well-run doctors' offices I've ever worked with. They have offices in Borough Park, Brooklyn and also Tribeca and the Upper West Side. Notes: they take many insurance plans and Dr. Nam is very responsive over email if you have questions in between appointments. She's also just a really lovely person and great with kids, which makes the whole experience a lot more pleasant.
  • Re: ISO Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Brooklyn pref but Manhattan

I second the recommendation for Dr. Nam. My daughter saw her when she was 18 months and she was amazing with her.
  • Re: ISO Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Brooklyn pref but Manhattan

My older daughter (soon-to-be 11) has been a patient of Dr. Julie Nam of Pediatric Opthalmic Consultants for over 5 years. We see her in the Brooklyn office (they are in Manhattan too). Incredibly thorough and takes time to explain everything so I understand. Dr Nam is a great practitioner. We've never sat in the waiting room for more than a few minutes.
  • Recommendations for pediatric opthalmologist

We see Dr Julie Nam. She has an office at 1552 49th St. She's awesome, gentle, and very smart. Google her- you'll see!

In addition to the UWS, Pediatric Opthalmic Consultants also have an office in Brooklyn, in Borough Park and an office in TriBeCa. The doctors rotate. My daughters see Dr. Julie Nam and we are very happy in her care. September 2012

I second the kudos for Dr. Julie Nam...I recently took two of my kids to see her (booked with her because none of her colleagues who we had seen before were available) and she was really great. I have a heritable eye condition and she was up on the research....and she has a great, warm interpersonal manner. (November 2011)

We have been taking our children to Pediatric Ophthalmic Consultants, Dr Julie Nam in Borough Park for a few years now and we think she is great. http://www.pedseye.com/pedseye_doctors.htm The office is a bit dusty because they let the kids eat snacks in the waiting room. That said, I've never waited in the waiting room more than 1 minute. They are incredibly prompt and efficient. They have all of the latest high tech equipment. They also have an office on the Upper West Side if you'd prefer heading into Manhattan. (November 2011)
