Doctor/clinic recs for IVF with donor egg
I highly recommend using a frozen egg bank, which is like a sperm bank but for eggs. New Hope has a great one, https://www.newhopefertility.com/egg-donor/donor-eggs/. Unlike other clinics, New Hope shares photos of the donors from when they were babies though the age at which they donated eggs. (Some clinics don't share any photos at all.) Plus some donors are willing to be contacted by the child when the child years 18 years of age. This may not be important to you, but may be very important to your child. Best part is once you choose a donor, you can start the cycle as soon as your next period comes (assuming all the paperwork is in order and necessary tests are completed). With traditional fresh egg donors, it can take six months or longer just to be matched with a donor. In my experience, using a donor exclusively can cost around $30,000. Sharing a donor with another recipient will cost less but of course reduces your chances not only of having a child but also having embryos left over for a potential sibling.ISO Advice for IVF clinics with great patient centered care
I have experience with both SHER and New Hope. New Hope has the advantage of being founded and run by Dr. Zhang who conducts research so he is on the cutting edge of fertility science; most fertility doctors don’t do research and just read medical journals to keep up to date on recent advances. But New Hope is still a factory.IVF in 40s, donor eggs etc
The NY REI I use in NYC is New Hope Fertility 4 Columbus Circle 347 252 9822 784 Park Avenue Location Dr John Zhang is the principle doctor.2018 Review
I tried 3 different clinics over the years and I'd highly recommend New Hope, with one caveat; their bedside manner can be awful. However their science is great, plus many of the big name clinics will do certain procedures to increase their success rate even if it increases the risks to the infants / mom. New Hope doesn't have that mindset, so are willing to do things differentlyRe: Rec for IVF clinic
I had great success with Dr Zhang at New Hope Fertility. He doesn't have the best bedside manner, but he leads a good team. They believe in lower dosage of meds to produce less, but higher quality eggs. As a result, each cycle cost is cheaper (my friend paid around $8k out of pocket since she was self employed). I know of 3 other moms who had success at this practice either on 1st or 2nd try. Each had different issues. I liked that they treat each patient differently (in terms of meds) unlike other places I had been to like Long Island IVF & Columbia which seem more standardized. They offer very flexible in hours for bloodwork (I believe from 7am till 1pm) which is easier to manage with work. I am not affiliated with this practice in any way, just very grateful that after a few bad experiences at other places, finally found a place that efficiently helped me get pregnant. Good Luck wherever you decide.
