  • Local Allergist for potential allergy shots?

Not in Park Slope unfortunately, but our son is just finishing up peanut OIT with Dr. Moreau at Latitude. He was turned down at Mt. Sinai and told his values were too high. It’s been a wonderful and easy process, and we’ve gotten used to the commute for the most part. Years ago, our son was over tested and diagnosed with tree nut allergies, which it turns out he doesn’t have, by another local clinic. I trust Latitude to be more discriminate and thorough with diagnosing food allergies.
  • Local Allergist for potential allergy shots?

We are seeing Dr.Moreau at Latitude and they are supposed to be opening a Brooklyn office sometime early next year. I had heard Jan/Feb 2024. We are hoping to start treatment with our kid with her once the office moves to Brooklyn.
  • Feedback on Dr. Brar (NYU)

I really do think Dr. Moreau and the Latitude practice are worth the trek. I switched to them a couple months ago after trying a Brooklyn practice that I was unhappy with, and the experience at Latitude has been incredible. Aside from Dr. Moreau being an absolute gem, the whole experience is just a pleasure. The founder is an allergy mom herself, not a doctor, and her motivation was to create a better experience for families. The office is so clean and nice, and so well run. Even the little things make it better - having an open, stocked kitchen for families to use, providing all the foods and mixers for food challenges, having lots of space and clean toys to keep little ones occupied during long visits. And on top of that, Dr. Moreau assured me at my last visit a few weeks ago that they'll be opening a Brooklyn office, likely by the end of the year.
  • Pediatric Allergist - Accepting New Patients

Latitude is a great option. They just opened their NYC office. They only deal with food allergies and do offer treatment if you’re interested. Our wait time for an appt was short, and the office space is amazing (toys, games, etc) for children.
  • ISO Pediatric Allergist

Another vote for Dr. Moreau for someone locally. She's the nicest and willing to let kids challenge out of foods.
  • ISO Pediatric Allergist

Seconding the recommendation for Dr.Moreau on Court in Carroll Gardens. We just switched to her for my tween son.
  • ISO Pediatric Allergist

Dr Moreau on Court street is great!
  • pediatric allergist

We love Dr Moreau on court street. She’s great.
  • Pediatric allergist

We love Dr Moreau in Carroll Gardens.
  • anaphylaxis and allergist recs

We use Dr. Moreau, and she’s very open about encouraging people to contact Sinai if they’re interested, and having patients see her and them concurrently. We started with her and did some food challenges, got on the waitlist at Sinai, saw them once, then the pandemic hit. Since then, we’ve just stuck with her and done another challenge. We appreciate the proximity and like her practice. I do think Mt. Sinai had a slightly different approach, which is interesting to compare. All that to say, you don’t necessarily need to start with them- you can get whatever’s soonest for immediate care/allergy plan, then see the other practice if you want.
  • Advice Post - Seeking Allergist/ immunologist Recommendations

We really like Dr. Moreau. Super competent and made going to the doctor FUN!
  • Pediatric dermatologist

You should maybe see an allergist instead of a derm? They can better assess underlying allergies/immunological things, which can crop up as bumps, eczema, etc. We went through a long dermatological odyssey (eczema? scabies? a virus?) with my son before finding Joanne Moreau on Court Street, and turns out he just has a lot of weird allergies. Try her.
  • Breastfeeding a baby with food allergies

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. Have you considered seeing a pediatric allergist? You can see one as early as four months and eliminate some of the guess work. I highly recommend Dr Joanne Moreau.
  • ISO Allergist recs

We LOVE Dr Joanne Moreau on court street. She’s really warm and kind, very thorough etc.
  • Allergist?

Co-sign on Dr. Moreau. She’s my child's allergist and I started seeing her last week. AWESOME!
  • Allergist?

Seconding the recommendation for Dr. Moreau!
  • Allergist?

Dr. Joanne Moreau was amazing! She was great with my then 7 month old daughter and also really nice to my 2.5 year old who was tagging along with us to the appointment.
  • Dr. Moreau Office and Staff

We’ve had a great experience with them. My daughter just started a 2s program and needed forms for school, and the nurse wanted more information so Dr. Moreau offered to speak to her directly. They’ve sent all the forms we needed quickly and called in prescriptions quickly. There is a long wait for food challenge appointments (4 months for us) but we’ve been able to take advantage of 2 last minute cancellations and get them done much more quickly than that.
  • 2018 Review

We see Dr. Moreau (330 Court St.) and she and her nurse are absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend them. We did skin test, blood test, and food challenge there, and are very happy.
  • [PSPFoodAllergyGroup] new to egg allerrgy/allergist recommendations

I totally recommend Dr. Moreau and Dr. Cox, who is now at Mt Sinai.
  • [PSPFoodAllergyGroup] new to egg allerrgy/allergist recommendations

Whenever someone on here asks for an allergist I recommend Dr. Joanne Moreau over on Court St. There have also been lots of other threads on here asking for allergists, so it might be worth going back and looking at some of those. Mt Sinai in Manhattan seems to always come up as the 'cutting edge' of pediatric allergy care, but Dr Moreau is awesome if you're looking for something closer to home.
