Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? January 2023 Review: Dr. Swenson was an amazing OB! I was very scared about the birth and Dr. Swenson was so supportive, kind, and motivating! She listened to my needs throughout my labor and made me feel at ease during a very stressful time.ob who delivers at bk methodist
I also highly recommend Dr. Swenson. My first delivery was long and dramatic and she stuck with me for 3 days and never pushed a C section. She has a very calming demeanor and takes time with you. I have delivered 3 babies in 3 different hospitals with 3 different OBs, and for the second 2 had a different OB than my prenatal one for birth, so this rec is informed!ob who delivers at bk methodist
Dr. Swenson is my doctor (I'm almost at 29 weeks now). She is at Maiden Lane Medical right across the street from Methodist and delivers there. She also delivered my son (with my wife as gestational parent) and did a c-section. It was an emergency c-section and was incredibly stressful, but Dr. Swenson was so wonderful throughout. She stayed late past her shift end in order to see us through the process. She is a consummate professional in addition to being warm, supportive, and an excellent listener. I am a big fan.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Amazing doctor! So attentive and patient centered, she made me feel at ease at all appointments and throughout my induction and caesarean.ISO: OBGYN in Brooklyn
I second the Dr.Guirguis practice. They have 3 locations - Park Slope, Bay Ridge and Staten Island. I was mostly in their Park Slope location. I can’t say that their wait times were long. The most I waited 10-15 min, but very often they take your vitals and you wait for your doctor right away. The practice was very careful with CV-19, had a lot of precautions in place. For some time In the midst of pandemic only expecting moms had in-persons appointments, the rest I think was done via televisits. So I felt very safe in the waiting room. All doctors and midwife Alexandra are just great. They take time to listen to all your concerns. They are absolutely not enforcing c sections or unnecessary inductions if you’re past due and there is no health risk. The induction is usually scheduled at 41 W 5D but if you don’t delivery by then, the chances are you’ll want to have your baby out. I delivered my healthy baby girl in Methodist Hospital just last week with Dr Swenson and midwife Alexandra and can’t be happy enough. Everything went great, I definitely be with Dr Guirguis practice for my 2nd baby and I also use them as my regular GYN.ISO: OBGYN in Brooklyn
I absolutely loved the OB practice I went to with my 2nd (born in February)! I went to the Guirgis practice. They have several doctors and I really liked them all but delivered with Dr. Swenson who is fantastic. Wait times can sometimes be long but they really listen and talk to you. I also loved their online message/chart system and found Dr. Swenson to be very responsive. I recommend setting up your account right away ( I waited a bit...not sure why!). I also delivered at Methodist (but it was a month befor covid) and had a great experience. Regarding your question about whether or not to change doctors...I say listen to your instincts. If you aren’t happy, change doctors. I had a lot of concerns about my dr with my 1st but didn’t change as I was just so overwhelmed by the pregnancy. I really wish I had changed...my experience with my 2nd was so much better at the Guirgis practice.Urgent: Looking for advice/recommendations on OBGYNs and hospitals for late term transfer
Welcome to Brooklyn! I highly recommend them Guirgis practice. I delivered with Dr. Swenson at Methodist and it was a great experience. Happy to answer any questions.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Swenson. She was thoughtful, calm, caring, confident and did her best to factor in all my birth plan goals safely. She enabled me to have a medication free labor and delivery (something that was very important to me).ISO Female GP in or near Park Slope
I have been seeing Inna Grishina at 6th St and 6th Ave for the last four years. I like her quite a bit. She takes the time to understand me and doesn't over prescribe. She also often recommends homeopathic remedies as a first course. She's nearby, has good availability and hasn't kept me waiting. She uses Zocdoc. She does not do pelvic exams, so I go to Dr Jill Swenson at the Guirguis practice on 3rd St for that.
