In-person Couple Therapist Recommendations
Jennifer Fleming is in Boerum Hill. We recently started seeing her in person and so far we find it helpful.Need therapist for deep childhood trauma
Highly recommend Jennifer Fleming for this. At one of my first sessions with her, I said in despair "And I don't know what to do about it!" (long story short re: toddler triggering strong negative reactions from me related to my childhood experiences), and she said something like "that's OK, I know what to do about it". And she was right.Review from the 2021 Therapist Survey
During what time span have you seen this therapist? 2017-present, now sporadically Type of therapist: Psychologist What kind of patients does this therapist see? Adults (individual therapy), Couples If the therapist treats any special kinds of issues or uses specific therapeutic techniques, please list/describe those here. In-person, Zoom, or telephone therapy? Zoom/Video therapy, I assume she will return to in-person therapy. Briefly describe the reasons you decided to seek help: Grief, couples counseling Does the therapist take insurance, and if not, how has your experience been with filing claims? She does not take insurance. We haven't tried for reimbursement (someday...) Review: We had a death in the family and complicated grief and resulting marital strain. The death was on my side, so I have seen her the most frequently, but my husband also sees her occasionally, and we see her from time to time as a couple. She is amazing in all three settings. She is very perceptive and compassionate, but also will push (gently) when she feels it's helpful. We don't see her as often anymore, but from time to time we still benefit from seeing her. We cannot recommend her highly enough. We found her through PSP recommendations.Therapist recs for dealing with overbearing mother/MIL
We started seeing Dr. Jennifer Fleming (who we found on the PSP Recommendations list) about a year and a half ago to help us navigate my husband's deeply dysfunctional family. I cannot overstate how helpful it has been, I only wish we had started going earlier. Dr. Fleming helped us be thoughtful and deliberate in our interactions (rather than getting swept up in the constant drama) and also set clear and loving boundaries, so that we can still have a relationship with my in-laws. Importantly to me, I feel like we have done this with integrity and attention, rather than hiding from the problem and getting sucked back in against our will (which was our previous pattern with my in-laws). Dr. Fleming is truly fantastic, she's incredibly smart, kind, and insightful. The lessons I've learned in therapy with her have really extended beyond just the relationship with my in-laws and have informed all my relationships (e.g. you cannot change others, but you can decide how you want to act). I highly recommend her, and am grateful to the other Park Slope Parents who recommended her previously, which led to our seeing her.[ANONYMOUS] Therapist for parents of possibly sick child

I recommend Jennifer Fleming, PhD. She has reviews on PSP.2014 Therapist Survey Review
Sex of Therapist (M/F) - F What kind of patients does the therapist see? Adults (individual therapy) Review: I am seeing Jennifer Fleming for help around interactions with my preschooler, which has included very insightful (on her part!) work on how my own childhood/family history informs my current parenting style and skills. She has helped me see how patterns in the past affect my current life, including how I interact with my husband and child. I have seen very quick improvement in my day-to-day family life from our work together. She is empathetic, pragmatic, and non-judgmental. Insurance? I don't use insurance to see Jennifer but she will provide an invoice to submit to insurance (for out-of-network coverage I believe). I don't know if she is in-network with anyone.Re: [ANONYMOUS] Recent recommendation for therapist for women?

Jennifer Fleming doesn't just listen she lets you know when you are ignoring what your mate just tried to say...I wish she could live with us. She helps you see a side that you could easily miss when you are fuming. She gives you tools... advice... practical information you can use (we asked her for this). She is a parent herself and is helping us "learn" how to respect each other's parenting techniques or ideas. (September 2011)
