What month and year was your child born? May, 2023 Review: Only saw Dr McConville in her office for check ups she was not present for birth. She is nice and straight forward. Generally happy with her careReview from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? March 2023 Review: Dr. McConville and her team provided me with exceptional care throughout my pregnancy. She was matter of fact, friendly, reassuring, and open to my questions and thoughts about my pregnancy and labor. I was fortunate that she delivered my daughter—she was great throughout the labor and delivery, and came to check on us afterward. The nurses at her office are exceptional—they answer every call timely, they are knowledgeable, patient and friendly, and they genuinely care about the patients. I can’t recommend Dr. McConville or her practice highly enough.Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey
Dr. McConville is great, as is the entire team at her office (Weill Cornell Primary Medicine - East Side), and ultrasound folks at the Alexandra Cohen Hospital. She is personable and cheerful, but very professional and direct. Her medicine is evidence-based and she won't give you biased information or recommendations. If there isn't science to back something up, she's not going to make it sound like there is. There is not a lot of hand holding during the prenatal visits - most conversations are initiated by you, so bring all the questions, even open ended ones, to start the conversation. That said, once prompted she'll give you all the time you need to discuss issues you may have. Her office is very organized, the nurses are nice and efficient, and there were rarely any wait times at all. Where Dr. McConville really was indispensable for me was during my induction, labor, and delivery. She 100% facilitated my birth preferences, even though delivery without epidural is not common at the AC hospital, and I couldn't have felt more supported. Additionally - I had complete confidence if I had needed a c-section that she was also a bad-ass surgeon and I would be in the best hands.Dr. Jacquelyn McConville or Dr. Laura Riley
Congratulations! I switched to Dr McConville when I was pregnant on the recommendation of another PS mom and she delivered both my daughters (now 10 & 12). I really like both her and her practice and highly recommend her. She started every appointment asking what questions I had. For me she was the perfect mix of taking things seriously but always calm and not alarmist. Unlike some other places, at least back then (I assume it’s the same now) the office was careful with scheduling so you never had to wait more than a couple minutes for any appointment, would be seen immediately if there was any issue, and any call was returned promptly. I think they do this by limiting new patients based on their due date; not an issue once you’re in.Dr. Jacquelyn McConville or Dr. Laura Riley
I delivered my daughter on 4/19 with Dr McConville and I only have good things to say about her. She's a professional and I had confidence in her every step of the way. Their practice is across the board really good - I never had to follow up on anything, and they took any/every concern seriously. (I was with another doctor there for my first baby, but she didn't do deliveries so I did my whole second pregnancy with McConville - despite living in Park Slope. I wanted to deliver at WC. Great experience there both times too, with 2 c-sections.) McConville's manner is professional, I guess you could say clinical, but I had a scary situation early in my pregnancy where she was really supportive and thank God it all worked out. When I delivered, I was her first birth back Monday morning after a vacation in Italy with her son - it was really sweet. She took great care of us, and I really recommend her.Review submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey
She was fantastic! Very straight forward, simple advice, does not freak out about much. Patient with my million questions, mom herself, overall great doctor and practice. Based on April 2016 birthing experienceReview submitted by 2016 Birth Survey
My main problem is that she was very impersonal. There were visits where I felt she didnt even make eye contact with me. Pregnancy can be stressful for someone who is doing this for the first time and its important that your doctor understands that and helps you through it by addressing all your worries in a caring way. We know doctors see tens if patients every day and have done it a million times before, but for me this is my first time and I need support from my care giver. Not all doctors have the patience to do this. Member notes about insurance: I have united helathcare. And Insurance was very easy. No need to make claims or anything.
