Review from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey
Location: Carroll Gardens Type of facility: 3K Review: The International School of Brooklyn (ISB) starts at PreK3 (3 years old by September), which was a draw for us in being able to send both of our kids to the same school at an early age. We've been really happy with the school - the classroom size is pretty small for PK3 and PK4 (I think there's a max of 15 kids, but my son's class had 10 kids with 3 teachers), though it does get bigger for K onward. It's an immersion school, which at this age means that 80% of the instruction or so is in either Spanish or French (even P.E. and art, which I love). What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space What would you change about the program, if anything? Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? The school is following the DOE, which means masks became optional earlier this year (2022) for the older kids, but remained mandatory for the lowest grades (with kids under 5) for several more months. As I understand, vaccines are mandatory for the 2022-23 school year.
