Review from the 2024 Daycare & Preschool Survey
Ia’s Learning Tree is an incredible daycare. The teachers / caregivers are loving, thoughtful, and attentive. There are a number of locations and the daycare is very well-run. There is open and clear communication and expectations. There is very little turnover in caregivers so our child was able to have the same consistent caregivers from 6 months old until we left at 2.5 years old. He absolutely loved going to daycare every day — playing outside in the yard, doing art projects, and singing and dancing. We left only because he was aging out but are still in touch with the caregivers, who we adore!!! Review: We sent our son to Ia’s on 18th when he was 5 months old and he’s now been there over a year. We adore it. His teachers are simply wonderful. They love him and care so much about him. They have yoga and weekly music. Once the kids are 1 they also provide breakfast and lunch (you send food prior to that which I actually appreciated as his needs were evolving). They send photos daily and a “report” for kids under 1. Our son is absolutely thriving and we know Ia’s is a huge part of that.; Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals;Daycare recommendations in south slope or Windsor terrace
I second Ia’s Learning Tree! We started when our daughter was 9 months and stayed through putting her into a 2s program. We absolutely loved Ia’s and are still in touch with the teachers.Daycare recommendations in south slope or Windsor terrace

My 16 month old is currently at Ia’s Learning Tree (they have a few locations) and are very happy with them, but no connection with a 3K program.Seeking recommendations for Daycares in Windsor Terrace/ South Slope
We send our kid to Ia's Learning Tree... they have multiple locations and have daycare for kids up to 3, as well as 2s only program! Our son loves it and has been smiling every day when we pick him up/drop him off!!Review from the Spring 2024 Early Education Survey
Review: Our son has gone to Ia's since he was about 11 months old (he's almost 2). He's our second kid and this is our second daycare (because we moved neighborhoods, not because we didn't love our elder child's place) so I have some comparison. I'm just so, so impressed. I thin it's so well run. They like to connect parents in a group chat, which it's so convenient and also shows a level a trust in that they want us all to get to know each other and chat. The caregivers are all so lovely and I've seen them tell the children — not even my own, just while I'm present—that they love them. The other week our son had an ear infection and they knew before we did cause they're so experienced. I'm so glad we found them. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? They're expensive.Review from the Spring 2024 Early Education Survey

Review: If you’re someone who cares most about warm, responsive caregiving over Pinterest activities and apps, then Ia’s might be for you. I toured every single daycare within a reasonable distance to our apartment, and Ia’s was the only one that stood out to me. Initially, the price felt expensive for what you get. Before Ia’s we were at a new center with the fancy app to log every detail, the latest Montessori toys, tons of activities, and relatively healthy, varied meals. At Ia’s, the apartment space is bland, there was a surprisingly low amount of toys, no daily log, and the food is the exact same menu every week. Then I realized they put all the money into the caregivers. Which is how it should be. For the 10-12 kids at a time, there were three caregivers. The same caregivers all day, every day. For my young toddler, I prioritized consistent, warm care over everything else. I wanted him to be around people who are loving, patient, quick to smile, and genuinely like kids. Some pros to note: You get pictures texted every day. The backyard space is an easy way to get the kids outside. For young babies, they don’t force the kids on a nap schedule. They also have yoga and music classes weekly, and music class has become my son’s favorite activity he looks forward to every week. The director is super organized and responsive. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Provides meals, Music and yoga weekly What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Besides the food menu, we had a hard time getting details about our son’s naps. Every time I asked how long he slept I was told the same response each time—1-3pm. It appeared he never woke up early once, which is impossible. Regardless, he came home happy every day, so I guess it didn’t matter. This also may be because there were sometimes language barrier issues. Also felt like due to lack of programming, my kid would outgrow the place at around 2.5. Although do note they've opened up a 2s program recently.Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: Ia’s has been great since our daughter started at 5 months. Teona is very organized and there is good communication with the parents. All of the teachers are very loving and I feel like each of them have a special bond with our daughter. There is relatively little turnover, though occasionally teachers get moved between Ia’s locations. If issues ever come up, it’s very easy to speak with the teachers/Teona and they are very responsive. Our first daughter will be moving to 3K in the fall (after 2.5 years at Ia’s), but our second daughter will be starting at a different Ia’s location next month and we have full confidence she will have just as good of an experience! Occasionally we have to drop our daughter off early and they are able to open early for us (we pay for the extra time, but well worth it). Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Our only complaint is that the food could be a bit more nutritious. Also, the landlord at the 8th street location is a huge jerk and takes over the leased outdoor space at Christmas to sell his trees, so the kids don’t get outdoor time in December.Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: My daughter seemed very happy every day going to Ia's. The staff was always happy to see her and seemed to really care about her. I really liked that they serve breakfast, lunch and snack so I never had to pack any food for the day. They have a little outdoor space that the kids use whenever the weather permits. I would definitely send my daughter there again. The only potential complaint is that they don't volunteer too much information about the day unless you specifically ask, though before the babies turn one they always are sent home with a paper that notes how much they ate/drank/slept/diaper changes. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? More feedback about your child's day at pick up.Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey

Location: 18th Street and 8th Avenue Type of facility: Daycare Review: Ia’s Learning Tree is truly a wonderful place. The director, Teona, is communicative and kind. There has been some turnover of staff since we started at this facility in August 2020, but the teachers have been invariably wonderful, and I know Teona takes care in choosing who she hires and who she places at each location. My son is clearly comfortable with his teachers and has formed a bond with several of them. The facility is in a single room space with younger and older children in the same room - yet my son has learned skills at a good pace for his age and as a bonus he has learned to ‘help’ and be careful with with small children, which was very helpful when his younger sister arrived! The teachers send photos every day so we can see what our child is up to. The facility provides homemade, healthy meals and snacks with lots of vegetables (my son often asks me at dinner time where the broccoli is). We could not be happier here and will be sending our younger child here as well. What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything? Nothing Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? The school has handled the pandemic well. Teachers have followed all CDC recommendations with regard to masks and vaccinations, and the director communicated well throughout (asking parents if we were comfortable with indoor vs outdoor music classes with outside teachers, for example). We went two whole years without a covid case. When covid did finally catch up to us, communication was open and clear and we were made aware of what we had to do in order to return to class.Review from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey

Location: 35 Terrace Place Type of facility: Daycare Review: We really love Ia's. They are open from 8 to 6, provide breakfast and lunch, are priced similarly to other places with less hours and no food, and the teachers are super nice. We've really enjoyed the community at Ia's--we've started hanging out at 5 PM on Friday's at the park with a few beers and wine, and our kid really loves the other kids. They don't provide much of a rundown of what happens during the day, so that might not work for some families, but we don't mind--just glad to see the pictures we get once a day and our kid comes home happy, so that's all we really need. Teona, who runs the multiple locations is very communicative and warm. Overall, highly highly recommend! What amenities does the facility have? Location: 19 Windsor Pl Type of facility: Daycare Review: Our son (~18mos) has been at Ia's for the last year and we couldn't have dreamed up a better fit. He has been with all of the same teachers and nearly all the same children for the duration of this year, creating a really warm, familiar community vibe. The kids are constantly stimulated with regular music classes, Spanish classes and outdoor time. The program is small, about a dozen children from infant to +3 years; This is great for my son today since he falls right in the middle of age distribution and is picking up new skills / words all the time. I do wonder how we'll feel when he's a bit older and less stimulated by older kids or a higher volume of kids around his age -- something other, bigger daycares solve for by having different rooms for older and younger kids. I can't imagine bringing him anywhere else for the time being, though, and am very grateful for the quality of care they support us with today. What amenities does the facility have? Location: Terrace Place Type of facility: Daycare Review: We are over the moon with Ia's Learning Tree. The owner, Teona, is extremely communicative, and fast to respond. The staff at the Terrace Place location is wonderful, and our daughter loves them (happy when we arrive, and although happy to see us at pick up, always goes back for an extra hug goodbye). They send 3-5 pictures every single day in the afternoon. The kid get fed breakfast, lunch and snack once they are over 1 year old. A Spanish teacher and a music teacher come once a week. We also got a little 'report card' with amount of milk, food eaten, diapers, and nap times up till our daughter was 1. We are very happy at Ia's. What amenities does the facility have? Ia’s Learning Tree has a location on 18th St. Both of my children have gone to the Windsor Place location since they were about 4 months old. I can’t say enough great things about them. I’ve met one of the 18th St teachers (Sophi) and the owner (teona) is there most days. Amazing teachers!ISO Daycare Recommendations in Windsor Terrace/Kensington
Ia's Learning Tree would be great if you want a place who takes both ages and provides food. Both our kids started there at 6 months and it was incredibly loving and fun.Ia’s Learning Tree - Terrace Place location
We have been sending our daughter to Ia's starting in November (she is now 6 months old). We really like it (though we have nothing to compare it to) and we toured/got in touch while I was still pregnant in July in order to secure a spot. Like many daycares in the neighborhood, space is limited to 12 students which may explain why it's so hard to get a spot! The rate is $550 per week full time.Ia’s Learning Tree - Terrace Place location
My daughter attended Ia’s at both Terrace Place and their 14th St. location from 2017-2019 and my son will be starting there in the summer. They’re wonderful! Kind and loving and got my daughter on a nap schedule at 6 months. I’m excited that my son will get to experience their care, too.Ia’s Learning Tree - Terrace Place location
My daughter was at Ia's from Jan 2019-March 2020 and it truly was the best experience we could have had! They were so loving, safe, FUN- truly. I can't be of much help post pandemic, but we loved the team there and Teona.Ia’s Learning Tree - Terrace Place location
We just started this week too and had been in communication with Teona since August. I am unaware of an "inside track" but had initially reached out and toured their other location when I was still pregnant but honestly it's all a bit of a blur. So far we feel that the caregivers are all very warm and [our baby] seems happy though hard to tell since she's 6 months old. We've only had two half days, which is how they start so that the babies are eased in. They are so flexible on her feeding/napping schedule and send text updates with pictures while babies are napping. When we were dropping her off we met two parents who said they really love it there so we feel like it's generally very well regarded.Ia’s Learning Tree - Terrace Place location
Our son attends the location on 18th street in Windsor Terrace and he loves it. The teachers are very kind and nurturing, send photos throughout the day, and do lots of fun activities like music classes and outdoor play. Let me know if there are more specific questions I can answer. I will note that my son is my first child, born during the beginning of the pandemic, and it was VERY hard for me to send him to any childcare because we were together for 8 months and everything felt so scary. I think he dealt with it better than me! The owner was very understanding and sensitive to the emotional landscape that parents are navigating through right now and has a young, school-age daughter herself.Ia’s Learning Tree - Terrace Place location

Type of facility: Daycare Review: Wonderful and caring teachers, warm and friendly environment. Owners are very easy to get in touch with and flexible with schedules. They share daily photos of your child but not a breakdown of what they did, which is okay with us but others may want more a more detailed report. Otherwise we are very happy here. Type of facility: Daycare Review: We feel so grateful to have found Ia's. Our son started with them when he was 7-months and has been there for 4 months, without any change to his primary caretakers. Pe, Pico and Neli are all so warm and loving; Our son smiles and kicks with excitement when they come out to greet him in the morning. They do such a great job keeping the kids stimulated throughout the week with music class on Fridays, yoga class on Thursdays and Spanish class on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The kids always seem so happy and engaged in the photos and videos they share with us throughout the week. The facility is always clean and this location has a back patio that they use quite a bit throughout the year. Teona, who runs the operation, is very involved and so responsive. She's extremely warm and understanding herself, as a fellow parent in Park Slope. We can't say enough about our experience with Ia's -- they really feel like an extension of family at this point. We highly, highly recommend!Ia's Learning Tree Experiences
We cannot speak more highly of Ia’s. Our daughter started with them (Park Slope location) at 4 months, is 9 months now, and has been so happy there. The “teachers” are all super loving and caring and know how to engage and stimulate even the youngest of kids. The socialization is great and they have so many fun things to do during the day. They truly do love their kids as their own and our daughter has the biggest smile every morning we drop her off. Highly recommend!Daycare for baby in Windsor Terrace
Our one-year-old has been at Ia’s Learning Tree since he was about 4 months old and we could not be happier!Review from the 2019–2020 Daycare, Preschool, Pre-K, and K Survey
Review: We've had our son (15 months old) at Ia's for just 2 months, but have already fallen in love with the place. The 14th Street location is clean, bright and everything feels new, and they have a big backyard space full of toys and things for the kids to play with. Ia's brings in outside music teachers to conduct singalongs -- safely, masked for COVID precautions -- in the backyard 1x or 2x a week, and they always have fun celebrating birthdays and holidays together. Ia's staff is warm and loving, and so engaging with the babies and kids; they send daily videos and photos, and are great at sharing regular updates, and take COVID precautions seriously. (The staff at 14th Street at least are also available for evening/weekend babysitting, which is a huge help.) Teona, who runs Ia's, is responsive and communicative and was a pleasure to work with when we enrolled our son. Review: I only have positive things to say about Ia's Learning Tree. Our son has been attending the 18th Street location since he was 10 months old and is now 20 months old and thriving. All of the caregivers are very sweet/loving and our son is excited to go to "school" everyday. Another great thing is that there have been no changes in caregivers since we have been there. When we arrive in every morning our son runs in to hang with his friends. They have a backyard that the children play in twice a day (when weather permits) and fun activities like weekly yoga, weekly music and art. I would recommend Ia's to anyone. I also second F.'s recommendation for Ia's Learning Tree. My son has been going there (the Windsor Place location in South Slope) since July of last year, and they've been great. We’ve been with Ia’s Learning Tree since 2016! They have three locations and each are wonderful. My 21 month old is at their 14th street location now but that location is moving to 8th St and 8th Ave at the end of June. The other locations are south slope and Windsor terrace. I don’t know the vaccination status of all of the teachers, but the owner Teo can share that information with you.Daycare Advice: G.A.T.E.D and Ia’s Learning Tree
Another plug for Ia's! Both of my kids attended their 14th Street location for a collective total of 3.5 years, and we could not have been happier there. I agree with everything Lucy said: warm, interactive, playful, loving staff. My kids ADORED their teachers. Teona (who runs the business side of the 14th Street location as well) is incredibly organized, communicative, and transparent - that was always the case, and there was no exception around the onset of COVID. Highly recommend!Daycare Recs?
We have been at Ia’s Learning Tree since September and absolutely love it! The teachers are so kind, loving, and competent. They send pictures every day and it always looks like the babies are having such a great time. I toured about 20 daycares when I was pregnant (yes, I’m a maniac). It was in February, so RIGHT before Covid hit, so I was able to actually go in and look around and observe teachers with babies at all of them. I believe they have openings at the 14th St. location, which is between 5th and 6th Ave. not sure if that’s convenient for you.Options for 4 yr old with school closed

Our baby was born in May, and we started at Ia’s Learning Tree a few weeks ago when I went back to work. We love it! The owner is very communicative and his teachers are so sweet and incredibly competent. The teachers wear masks all day and they meet you outside the door during drop off, so parents aren’t going inside. They also do temperature checks, hand washing, and other normal safety measures. It did feel weird sending him at first, but we couldn’t be happier with Ia’s Learning Tree. Check out Ia's Learning Tree. We toured there when we toured Daisy. We ended up going with Ia's and never looked back, we've been so happy. Ia's is also a family run business (mother, Ia, and daughter, Teona) and beyond sweet (which they are), they are incredibly organized and just instilled confidence in us from the minute we set foot in their 14th Street location. We sent both of our kids there starting at five months. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I know they have spots available right now. Ia's Learning Tree! They have three locations. We've attended their 14th Street location since my two kids were each five months old. We adore the whole operation. Our daycare, Ia's learning Tree, has 3 locations in South Slope/Windsor Terrace. Our oldest Son Oscar has been there since he was 14 weeks old and is still there now (he turns 4 in October) before he will head to Pre-K next month (fingers crossed). Our younger son has been there since he was 5 months old (he's 16 months old now). We love Ia's, I cannot say enough good things about Teona and Ia who own and run this family owned in-home daycare. They truly work in the best interest of the kids and go above and beyond. When a majority of the kids were turning 2/3 Teona created a pre-k program at one of the locations to keep things age appropriate. They have a great outdoor backyard for the kids to play with water tables and toys and small climbing structures. All food is included and Ia prides herself on her cooking and making Georgian Khachapuri with the kids! Each location is 12 kids. In non COVID times the teachers also baby sat on nights and weekends and I've on occasion left my house keys with them to take the kids home to babysit if my husband and I had work in the city late during the week. Ia's is always a clean and happy place and Teona/Ia are taking great precautions with COVID and have handled COVID proactively and with such grace. Both of my kids went to Ia's Learning Tree's 14th Street location from the time they were five months old until COVID - three years for my older and nine months for my younger. I cannot recommend them highly enough. It's a family-run business: the daughter, Teona, handles new business, and you're probably touring with her. She also runs one of the locations. The mother, Ia, runs the 14th Street location. They are both amazing and so good at what they do. I cannot imagine more loving, kind, caring, fun, responsive, organized, patient, flexible providers. Here's just some of what I loved: they send a photo home every day; have a backyard; provide healthy, home-cooked meals and snacks; offer early drop off and late pick up requested in advance for a reasonable additional expense (we also used the providers as evening and weekend babysitters). I have to say, they have also handled COVID admirably. Teona is extremely communicative. They have taken safety measures for their staff and families from the beginning, including hiring drivers to get the teachers to and from their locations and extra disinfecting measures. Teona will tell you more, I am sure. Truly, I love these women and this business, and am so grateful for the care they have provided my kids and the community they have provided my family. My daughter has peanut, tree nut, dairy and egg allergies, as well as asthma, and our daycare has been wonderful. We go to Ia's Learning Tree. She developed the allergies long after she had started (she started at 2 months) and I bring all food and milk for her even though they cook for the other kids. She can't safely eat any of their food so i am more comfortable doing that. Happy to answer any other questions. (June 2019)2019-2020 Year Review
Ia's place is an incredibly special daycare. We toured numerous daycares, and had our kiddo in a different space before this one, and we've found it to be exceptional. It is a loving, joyful, nurturing environment. The caregivers are so warm and have seemingly endless energy and enthusiasm, and seem to have strong community among themselves. Because the daycare is mixed age, we've felt they had time to be very attentive to the babies while creating a fun environment for the toddlers to play and explore. We felt from our first week that they had real, heart-felt affection for our child, sharing our joy for him in a way that felt authentic. He has bonded closely to multiple staff there, and we love seeing how happy he is at pickup and drop off. There is a music and movement teacher that comes in multiple times a week, and the space has many toys and games while remaining well organized. We get photos or videos daily, and it is always easy to reach the providers if we need anything during the day. Teona, the administrator, is communicative, responsive, highly organized, receptive to feedback and genuinely invested in running the program. … About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals2019-2020 Year Review

My daughter goes to Ia's Learning Tree on 17th between 7th and 8th Ave. They are amazing. My daughter has been going there since she was 7 months old and she has learned so much in a short amount of time. They do baby yoga on Tuesdays and music class on Thursdays. They're very flexible so you may be able to work something out with them. It's actually not super convenient to us (we live in Windsor Terrace), but we make the trek every day because she has thrived so much in their care.Review from the 2018/2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
Ia's Learning Tree is a small home-based daycare with two other locations. There are not too many children, I'd say normally 8-12. They have a great adult-to-child ratio too, and everyone is very friendly and caring. We love to see how happy our son is both arriving in the morning and going home in the evening. Once he turned one, they provided meals, which he seems to eat (better than we fare at home). It's a cute space with a back yard, and separate sleeping area upstairs. It feels a lot homier than some of the other more 'structured' daycares where the children are grouped by ages in a single room. Email communication is very prompt with the daycare owner, who is happy to address any questions and concerns. They were also very flexible with full time vs part time care, as we gradually increased the number of days we attended. Ia’s is the best! About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals, 8am - 6pm2018
Ia's started out as a daycare with mostly babies and, this fall, added a pre-K based program for 2+ as the babies became toddlers. I can't speak highly enough about our experience with them when my daughter was an infant and now as she's a toddler. Our 2-year-old, who's been at Ia's since she was five months old, seems to love it - and so do we! Our daughter says hello and goodbye to the daycare providers with smiles, hugs, and kisses, and they seem as genuinely happy to see her too. The ladies really know and understand our daughter. She says the names of her daycare providers at home all the time (in addition to the names of her friends from daycare). During drop off and pick up, all of the kids are happy, calm, and engaged. For the pre-K based program, Ia's brings in a music/yoga teacher four days a week for one hour, and they also do reading and art activities. Our daughter loves to dance with her friends and repeats the songs at home. Ia's send a photo or video every day. I cannot imagine more loving, kind, caring, fun, responsive, organized, patient, flexible providers. For us, it's been the best of both worlds between daycare and preschool: -They have several holidays but don't follow the DOE schedule. -They have a backyard and take the kids outside everyday as long as it's not raining. -They provide breakfast, lunch, and snack (organic milk, eggs, fruit ,veggies, and meat) -Early drop off and late pick up can be requested in advance for a reasonable additional expense (we also use the providers as evening and weekend babysitters!) I cannot recommend Ia's highly enough!Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey

Ia's just added a pre-K based program for 2+ that will start in Sept 2018. A couple of the parents asked if they are planning "off-campus" activities. Ia's is looking into a license to be able to take the kids offsite.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
Our son went into their 2's group and although it was an adjustment from going from a nanny at first is really thriving. He loves having the socialization with all of his new friends and loves discovering new books there. He particularly enjoys the art projects they have and is learning numbers through each project. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals, hours are 8-6pm which is great for working parents.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
We absolutely love Teona and her team at Ia's. My son has been there since he was 3.5 months old and he is now 18 months. Teona and her team are loving, interactive and warm. They have yoga and music classes twice a week from an outside teacher who is also amazing and has essentially made the rounds at all the first birthday parties for the kids. They send daily photo updates via text and a short video of the music and yoga classes. All the food is provided once your child is 1 and all organic. They have an outdoor space where the kids can play when the weather is appropriate. So many skills he has learned at daycare, because I know he didn't learn from me or my husband! I have nothing but rave reviews for them and your child would be in excellent care! Very loving caretakers. They recently became licensed as a preschool. Our almost 2 year old seems to have love it there as if it's his second home. They send one photo per day, which is perfect for us :) And most importantly, we trust them fully. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals, you might be able to arrange early/late options, i'm just not sure. they don't advertise it. What would you change? This is a great question, but I don't have anything useful to contribute here :)Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
My daughter was at Ia's first location from 10 weeks to nearly 2 years. We LOVED it. The caretakers are wonderful. My daughter could count, sing songs, play well with others and always took awesome naps there. We miss them a lot and plan to visit - it's truly a family feeling. They sent us photos daily and gave us little reports. My daughter was always happy to go. It is a truly wonderful place! And they have more locations now - I highly recommend. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals What would you change? Nothing. They met me crazy schedule when I needed help and we found a wonderful babysitter who worked there too. We love them!Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
Good daycare - very clean, good ratio, good care, lots of light, friendly group of caregivers and parents, backyard, organized, good email/text response, pretty consistent staff (not a lot of turnover). Send pics every day. Don't always communicate with you proactively, but if you ask questions either in person or via email, they're responsive. The head provider will also set aside time to have a deeper check in conversation if asked. Our child has been there from 6 months-18 months old (so far) so we don't know what she loves or not, but she's never been unhappy to be dropped off in the morning. At this point, we're starting to feel she might want/need more range of activities and to go offsite and so will be sending her to a 2's preschool program in the fall. They provide all meals after 1 year old and I think it's pretty healthy from what I can gather (no junky stuff). About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change? They provide daily reports until 1 years old. I wish they did that longer since our kids still can't communicate much with us, though the staff will tell you at pick up if anything was off or wrong. Also wish they told us more about what the kid are doing and learning. We get some sense of that from pics/videos and at drop off, and can inquire for more details, but sometimes we happen to see something new she must have learned at daycare that it would be nice to get more organized communications on, like a weekly email. I also wish they had the license/option to go offsite around the neighborhood now that the kids are walking and a little older. I know these are things that daycares generally don't do, but it would be a big plus. Otherwise we've been very happy with it.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
We are currently enrolled part time, and our son has been attending since 6 months of age. We love seeing how happy he is both arriving and leaving. We get a photo every day, and up until one year we received daily sheets showing when our son napped, ate, had a bottle, and had diaper changes. There is music and baby yoga class twice a week. Children over one are offered homemade meals, and a menu is posted showing what is being given each day, but we sometimes bring our own food too since our son is still learning. All of the caregivers are very friendly and kind, and are happy to answer any questions, and while some are not as fluent in English (as noted in another review) we have never had an issue communicating any requests. Type: Preschool About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals Review: We love this daycare! Our baby has been with them since he was 3 months old. They are loving, kind, and caring. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Language issues-- English is their second language, so sometimes we have a little difficulty with communication but nothing that would ever deter us from recommending this daycare.Review submitted via the PSP Daycare/Preschool 2016 Survey
Age: < 1 year Review: The teachers are loving and nurturing and I know my child is in capable and very good hands. They are very communicative, sending me text messages, pictures and videos of my child during the day. They are energetic and I feel my child is stimulated when he is there - they bring in a music teacher once a week and play outside whenever the weather permits. I really feel like they care about my child and have developed a relationship with each other - the teachers are excited to see him and he is all smiles when we drop him off and pick him up.Review for Ia's Learning Tree childcare center
When we read about how to choose a childcare provider for our daughter, the key advice every book, blog and friend suggested was to think about which environment felt safe, nurturing, and attentive. Essentially, to follow our instincts. From the moment we met Ia and Teo of Ia's Learning Tree, we knew it was the exact right environment for our baby girl. Teo and Ia are the best combination of responsible, responsive, flexible and completely loving. Our girl is always smiling when we drop her off and pick her up. She is well rested and well fed, and we get updates during the day of how she is playing with other kids, tackling new toys and games, and enjoying her time as a happy baby. At the same time, Ia's Learning Tree has family friendly policies that we appreciated, and Teo and Ia are very flexible as our schedules change or if we have special requests. I cannot recommend Teo and Ia enough, and I feel very lucky to have found a place that feels like a second home for our girl.Ia's Learning Tree Recommendation
When our first child was born we were terrified by the prospect of leaving him with someone else. Besides a desire to leave him in a good environment, our greatest concerns were the simple, horrifying, accidents of life: will he choke on something? Get hit crossing the street? Be neglected while in the care of a stranger? Within a very short time with Ia's all of our fears were put to rest; not only was our child always well fed, well rested and happy when we picked him up but also looked forward to going back the next morning. On occasions when we visited it was plain that he was fretted over and pampered, and, most importantly, that they were making the choices for him that we would make ourselves. It was (and is) obvious to any person what a loving, caring environment they maintain, and that they pay tireless attention to the needs of the young ones in their care. Their ongoing and persistent devotion to the children in their care is something to be applauded and to feel thankful for.We were fortunate to have found Ia's, it was and is a wonderful space for children. They also cared for our second child daily, and never once did we worry over either child's safety or security. We stayed with them for over 5 years and have recommended them to friends who were equally thrilled. We energetically recommend Ia's to any parent who needs childcare.Review Submitted via Fall 2015 Daycare/Preschool Survey
PROGRAM: 14th Street btwn 5th & 6th Aves TIME: 3 days a week AGE: < 1 year1-2 years REVIEW: Teo and her mother Ia are amazing with my son. They are kind, energetic and concerned for his well being, education and happiness. They respect our wishes with regard to food and sleep requests and have been incredibly accommodating when I needed to drop off or pick up earlier or later. They help comfort him on mornings when drop off is tough but most days he's thrilled to be there and is ALWAYS happy when we pick him up. They make sure he eats well, is read to, gets outside, plays with appropriate toys and is kept safe above all else. My son is thriving with them and we really appreciate them as parents who wish we could be with our kid during the day. Knowing he is with people who express affection and are tuned into his needs is incredibly important to us. WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Highly recommend WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN? Absolutely
