  • Hair Help!?

Second the recommendation for Hazuki, they do a great job.
  • Hair Help!?

I've always had frizzy / slightly wavy hair and have dealt with it by getting a "Japanese straightening perm" every 6-8 months to minimize maintenance in between. It's 3-4 hours of treatment time but once done I rarely blow dry or do anything special for my hair. About 6 months postpartum I started getting these crazy baby hair in the front of my head and they haven't grown out enough for me to be able to do much about them (about 1 year PP now) - it's driving me nuts! I don't know if this would be worthwhile for just a bit of hair in the back of your head, but I've sworn by it for about 15 years now. I've gone to various salons over the years for it, at the moment I really like Hazuki.
  • Hairstylist Recommendation for Chinese hair

I also had good luck with Taka at Hazuki hair salon in park slope. He started cutting my daughter’s Asian-textured hair when she was 3, and was very patient with her. Reasonable prices too.

Have you tried Hazuki Hair on 7th St between 4th and 5th ave? It's in the Brooklyn Beauty/Fashion Labo space. They're great! This is the only place my son is willing to go to get his hair cut.
  • Asian Hair Salon recommendations?

My husband and I both go to Hazuki Hair ion 7th Street (b/w 4th and 5th Ave( and see Keiji. He’s great! I have my hair colored and cut by him (short pixie style, hair lightened) and have been super happy.
  • Asian Hair Salon recommendations?

I've been going to Hazuki in Park Slope (https://www.hazukihair.com/brooklyn) As an Asian Guy with long hair, they really do a great job. and this is located in a place that has an asian market, nail salon, etc.

  • Pediatric Dentists & Kids Hairdressers

Yes! Taka at Hazuki Hair is soooo nice and patient! He even did a house call at the beginning of covid for us!

Re: Kiddo haircut, we're fans of this place which was recommended by another parent on this group: https://www.hazukihair.com/brooklyn Don't know what their post COVID protocols are but I trust that they're taking appropriate precautions. It's also a nice big airy space that gets a lot of ventilation.
  • Haircut in Park Slope

I go to Hazuki on 7th st. It’s a Japanese place. I see Ayaka, who is amazing but unfortunately she’s on maternity leave at the moment. I think it will still be worth it to check out their other stylists though!
  • Hair stylist rec

I recently went to Hazuki on 7th St between 4th and 5th and it was amazing! https://www.hazukihair.com/ I have long hair and only get it cut 1 - 2 times a year and it's growing back nicely. I'll definitely be going back.
  • ISO local haircut

I would HIGHLY recommend Hazuki Hair salon on 7th Street b/w 4th and 5th Ave in Brooklyn. I was in the same boat as you, with my normal stylist located in Manhattan. After having twins, it was such a pain to have to trek there just to get a cut. I did some research and even looked to PSP for past advice, and saw Hazuki. The atmosphere is great! Really artistic looking / cool space, without being pretentious. The cuts are really affordable, but note: it is all cash because of this.
  • ISO local hair stylist

I love Taka at Hazuki salon. He works alone, has a great approach and is reasonably priced. On 7th Street in Park Slope
  • Toddler haircut for long curly hair?

Taka at Haruki salon on 7th Street is absolutely wonderful with kids (not curly hair specific).
  • Shout out

Our 5 yr old has gotten her hair cut there twice and walked away with a super cute bob that has inspired compliments from people on the street.
  • New salon for great kids haircuts

Greetings! I know alternatives to the usual kids' haircut places is a frequent topic on this board, so I thought I'd give a shout-out to a new discovery: Hazuki, a Japanese salon that recently opened on 7th street between 5th and 4th avenues (https://www.hazukihair.space/brooklyn/). We got our kindergartner's hair cut there recently and the stylist took a lot of time and care to layer it into a cute bob, for which we've consistently received a ton of compliments from strangers. It cost only $21. They do not park kids in front of a TV (a plus in my book) and the stylist was great working around the inevitable squirming. Also, it's adjacent to a shop, featuring curated Japanese products, that sells coffee drinks, etc, which makes the wait extremely pleasant.
