Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing SurveyWhat month and year was your child born? April 2022 Review: Xiuting came over to our home on short notice to help diagnose my early BF issues (twice!) and to do weighted feeds. She’s based in the Bronx but makes visits to Park Slope. She’s very knowledgeable and is also a NYP RN and IBCLC. She came highly recommended by the NYP LoMa lactation consultants. She accepts Aetna and a few other insurances - worth checking with her. She was very responsive by email and text.
recs for a reassuring, nonjudgmental lactation consultantWe had Xiuting Hawkins come to our home (in Fort Greene) back in February 2021. She was recommended to us by the LC we worked with at NYP when our son was born. I cannot overstate Xiuting’s positive influence on our breastfeeding journey: she saved us. She compassionate and warm while being extremely competent and efficient. We reached her by text at 347-978-4484. Her website is https://nyclactationservice.com/about-us
Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing SurveyFantastic- very informative
Review from the 2021 Birthing Experience SurveyWonderful
Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyXiuting was willing to visit in-person, which was enormously helpful as I was dealing with engorgement, a clogged duct, and pain latching.
Lactation Consultant who takes GHI/Emblem HealthA lactation consultant that accepts GHI and makes house calls to Park Slope is Xiuting Hawkins. She was absolutely amazing and helped me tremendously! She also works as a nurse at Columbia Presbyterian. I highly recommend her:
2019 Birth SurveyShe was fine, and handled the insurance directly which was much (GHI). Whe helped with latch and did a weighted feed. Gave some useful tips, but we got the hang of it so I never did the second visit. I also saw a bunch of different lactation consults in the hospital do I felt that what she said tracked pretty closely and that I didn’t get much new information from her.
