shout out to Happy Baby Playhouse Daycare
I’d also like to give a shout out to Happy Baby Playhouse. We have been with them for years - my oldest was one of their first babies after they moved from Union Street to South Slope and my little guy started full-time when he was just 6 months old. Ms. Lorena and her staff are truly wonderful caregivers and provide a warm and nurturing environment for the kids. They provide snacks and fresh cooked meals and have good play spaces including a private backyard play space. I am so glad Ms. Lorena and her staff was there as my babies became toddlers helping them with their developmental milestones from solids to first steps to words and songs. My kids loved being there and we had happy kids at pick ups each day. I wholeheartedly recommend Happy Baby Playhouse. I'd also like to shout out Happy Baby. We were in a bind as a daycare spot we thought we had confirmed last spring fell through 2 months before. Lorena was responsive and wonderful to work with. Our then 10-month-old transitioned very quickly, which was a huge relief. He is full of smiles at drop off and pick up, which says it all. I'd like to second this review of Happy Baby Playhouse. Our daughter started attending when she was six months old, and I was apprehensive about beginning daycare and being away from my baby. From the start, Lorena and all the caregivers were so warm, wonderful, and easy to communicate with, and I was right away assured that my daughter was in great hands. It’s clear that they take a genuine interest in her development, share our joy in her milestones, and care for her deeply. Our daughter lights up in a smile as soon as she sees the teachers at dropoff and is happy and smiling at pickup, too. I wanted to give a shout out to Happy Baby Playhouse, an incredible daycare in South Slope, on 19th Street and 5th Avenue. We started sending our youngest daughter there when she was four months old after encountering some problems with the daycare we had intended to have her at. We were absolutely thrilled to discover this gem of a daycare. Every caretaker is warm, kind, easy to communicate with, and truly loves the kids. I only wish I had known about Happy Baby for my older daughter. Their care has been above and beyond every step of the way. They're been exceptional at accommodating allergies and some early motor challenges, and have really met my daughter where she's at with love and fun every day for the last year. My kid is beaming at both drop off and pickup, and I feel so comfortable with every caregiver. I know they have some spots open due to some of the older kids heading into 3K programs, so if you are looking you should absolutely reach out to Lorena at happybabyplayhouse@yahoo.com. They offer both fulltime and part time options and were accommodating and flexible with my evolving needs as my daughter got a bit older. My almost 2 year old has been going to Happy Baby for over a year now and we just couldn’t be happier. She runs in everyday without even looking back over her shoulder and explodes out with a giant smile at the end of the day. We can tell the place is filled with love and joy. They were great handling my breastmilk in the early days and have been great partners to us as first time parents with even little things like “we think she’s ready for a straw cup” and I know from parents of older kids they’ll help with potty training etc. too.Happy Baby Playhouse
We sent our son to Happy Baby Playhouse from the time he was 16 months until he was 31 months old. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and Lorena and Jen (as well as other staff) were so caring and loving with him. They provided healthy meals and helped with potty training him. They would give us a report every day upon pick up and were very communicative. Seconding the Happy Baby recommendation. My daughter went there last year and loved it. In addition to the wonderful staff and activities, they have beautiful space and provide organic meals. I also really liked how flexible they were in accommodating my daughter’s nap schedule as she still preferred 2 naps even after turning 2. We were there from when my daughter was 10 months to 3 years old (we moved which is the only reason we left and I pretty much put off moving because of how much I love this daycare!) Izabella and Lorena are completely amazing. We had been at a previous daycare we had a lot of communication issues with and when we started at Happy Baby it was a breath of fresh air. They are so incredibly good with the kids and we had such an easy time communicating with them through sleep regressions, potty training etc. My daughter ran in to that school every single day without even looking back and she still regularly talks about "Bella". I can't recommend them highly enough. We just had our second and I still can't find a daycare near our new home that measures up to Happy Baby.Happy Baby Playhouse daycare
It is the same place [as Happy Baby Daycare on Union] and run by Iza. Lorena is amazing. My son went there in the spring, only for about 4 months (the short amount of time had nothing to do with the daycare!). We had a great experience.Happy Baby Playhouse daycare
My daughter was there from last January through August and we really loved it. We only stopped going because we moved, and even drove back and forth for a while but it wasn’t sustainable for us. The space they have is fantastic compared to the others we toured and the teachers are all wonderful. If they have a spot open for you, I would definitely recommend it.24m+ daycare recommendation?
Our 16 mo goes to Happy Baby Playhouse, 19th btw 5th and 6th. It’s a small daycare with around 12 kids. They do not have separate rooms. But they are amazing, our son loves it there.Happy Baby Playhouse
I am writing a recommendation for my son's daycare in South Slope, Happy Baby Playhouse, on 19th Street between 5th and 6th Ave. My son has attended since he was 8 months old, for the past year, and we have seen him flourish and grow so much over this time. We are so appreciative of the love and care the caregivers have given him, which has helped him blossom and come into his personality from his first days when he was tearful and slow-to-warm with other kids and caregivers. They offer part and full-time enrollment and have been flexible with me as my work schedule changes certain weeks in the healthcare field. All caregivers are vaccinated (shared with their permission), and they haven't had a COVID-related closure since we've been with them since last March.
