  • Pelvic Floor Therapist Recommendations

I saw Gopi Jhaveri at Brooklyn Health PT and she was great. I don't see her currently listed on their site — not sure if she's still there or not, but I'd say it's worth a call.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

Gopi Jhaveri of Brooklyn Health PT is amazing for post-birth pelvic floor therapy. Not sure if she's there anymore but I'd recommend her unequivocally!

Postpartum PT Gopi Jhaveri is amazing! I highly recommend her for all physical issues after you give birth. Based on a April 2017 experience
  • Re: Post-natal physical therapy for diastasis/other issues

I'm sure other have already recommended Gopi at Brooklyn health PT in south slope for post-partum PT. She's has a lot of experience and she has had two kids of her own so I feel she really understands. I previously went to Renew physical therapy and not only was it out of network and really expensive for each visit, I had two separate PTs and neither was really good. I thought Renew was too focused on prescribing me 20 different kinds of kegels and using a machine to measure my kegel strength instead of looking at the whole series of strength, flexibility, and balance issues that were contributing to the weakness in my core. I Actually think all post partum women should get PT like this whether or not they are technical diagnosed with diastisis or pelvic floor weakness. It is really helpful for getting your body back on track.
  • [Winter 2016 babies] Physical therapy for mom!

I loved working wth Gopi also! She's amazing. I saw her after my pregnancy and she helped me with a few things including closing my diarists recti.
  • [Winter 2016 babies] Physical therapy for mom!

I highly, highly recommend Gopi at Brooklyn health PT (on 20th & 4th Ave in South slope). She specializes in perinatal PT. I've seen her two different times since the birth of my second, and she is really smart, funny, and totally "gets it" (she has two kids under two, too!). It's possible you may not be able to get an appointment immediately with her, but I have also heard from other moms that the other maternal health PT there is great.

I cannot speak highly enough of Gopi Pillai at Brooklyn Health! She specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy and has so much knowledge about the pregnant/postpartum body. Good luck!
  • Pelvic Specialist?

I'm seeing Gopi for diastasis recti and she is excellent! I found her highly recommended on PSP for all things postnatal. Can't recommend her enough. I'm feeling so much better, and also she's hilarious and our sessions are fun. She's at Brooklyn Health PT, and takes my Cigna insurance. (Review submitted March 2017)
  • Back physical therapist for diastasis (Feb 2014 review)

  • review of Brooklyn Health Physical Therapy (Feb 2013 review)

I started seeing Gopi at Brooklyn Health PT to deal with diastasis recti when I was about 7 or 8 weeks postpartum. She was thorough in analyzing my case (which wasn't severe) and great at explaining the exercises -- both in terms of what I needed to do and how they would help me. She tailored the exercises to fit my abilities and provided me with homework to continue once my PT sessions ended. I saw positive results in a very short amount of time. Overall, she was very knowledgeable, easy to work with and good at getting results.
  • Re: [ANONYMOUS] Help! Pelvic organ prolapse

There is a physical therapist in South Slope who specializes in this. Her name is Gopi Jhaveri at Brooklyn Health Physical Therapy. She is very approachable and easy to talk to. When you call to make an appointment, just say you need to make it with Gopi and you don't have to go into details about what is wrong. Depending on your insurance, you may need a referral. Good luck.

ISO: How to treat pelvic wall prolapse? I have been seeing a great PT for something similar and she takes my insurance (which not many providers do, so it's worth seeing if she takes yours..). August 2012

  • Post-partum physical therapy

I recommend: Gopi Jhaveri, DPT Post-partum physical therapy for the pelvic floor and abdominals were extremely helpful to me. Gopi Jhaveri was wonderful. She gave me great exercises to do on my own time. After giving birth, I read about how France has post-partum PT available for all women (and how the U.S. did not) so I feel extremely lucky that we have Gopi in Brooklyn and she took my insurance (GHI). I just got a referral from the Park Slope Midwives! (March 2012)
