Just from my experience, I did a brunch for about 40 people at Giovanni's, which is close to my place. They setup one long table along the side of the restaurant. Price was reasonable (we had unlimited mimosas and bloodys) and food and service were solid. I go there often so I'm partial to it.ISO: restaurants for family brunch in south slope

The food there is excellent, but we were a bit annoyed with the planning process. The pricing the our group total was a bit confusing and when we were 10+ people less than our top number, the owner did not lower the price. Should have requested a price per head, not a lump sum, but that's how he set it up. Staff working the lunch the day of was very friendly and helpful, but we did not have the location to ourselves so it ended up being a bit crowded and loud as there other Sunday customers were there.Italian Restaurants

Hands down my favorite place in South Slope is Giovanni's /Brooklyn Eats. They have a $12 lunch special, the food is amazing and there are so many windows to sit by. Also, the staff is awesome. Do not leave without having dessert and cappuccino either. It's on 8th ave & prospect.
