Ghenet has always been my go to (I’ve tried the ones in Fort Greene). The original owners have turned the menu over to their (I believe) grandchildren. The injera is now much lighter and less dense. The food remains fabulous! I should clarify that I don’t get meat at Ghenet, only vegetables.Recommendations for Vietnamese or Ethiopian food?

Ghenet on 4th ave near Douglas and Dean. It's an Ethiopian resto which moved from Mulberry St in Soho.(no subject)
Ghenet for Ethiopian; 4th at Douglass. We take our twin 5yo there almost weekly. If you arrive on the early side (before 7pm) it's usually quiet. The bonus is that everyone gets to eat with their fingers and what kid doesn't love that. Caution though: There are plenty of non spicy options but some of the food is quite spicy--not burn your tongue hot, but it'll definitely give you a glow. (October 2011)great for large parties too!
had a very nice dinner for about 20 at Ghenet, the Ethiopian restaurant. Turns out they have a private back room. It was $35/head including a glass of wine. It was wonderful!
