Gerard LaStarza is absolutely fantastic! He has built gorgeous built-ins for us using reclaimed wood with some beautiful stains. I have also seen equally impressive work that he is done in metal. I can highly recommend Gerald La Starza of Brooklyn Modern for custom cabinetry, remodeling, and design. I love the work he did for my living room. As a built-in, he made a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf made entirely in metal with 5 closed cabinets underneath. It is a quality piece and added character to the room. I wanted to recommend our contractor, Gerald La Starza, who recently completed work at our brownstone apartment. He is looking for more clients in the Park Slope/Windsor Terrace area. As we were really happy with everything he did for us, we wanted to pass along his info to the PSP community. We started our project not 100% sure what really wanted and Gerald was a big help. Not only did he spend a lot of time designing various options for our kitchen cabinets and built-in storage, he also made us 3-D renderings of his ideas. Price was somewhat of an issue as well, so it was crucial to have advice from someone we trusted about where we should economize and where it was worth investing more. But the thing that really made him standout, was how much he communicated with us during the job. We felt totally comfortable with him and all his workers, which made the renovation process much easier to deal with. (Jan 2011)
