  • Gynecologist for fertility help

Genesis Fertility and specifically, Dr Melzer Ross. I know you said no REs. Hear me out: Our insurance covered nothing but testing and hormones, ie prescriptions, and she worked with us to maximize what we could use insurance for. She is patient, and kind, and creative. She's also a Park Slope mom -- her youngest is at a neighborhood school, or at least was as of about a year ago. She gets it. She sees patients out of a small office on 8th Ave, although there's full access to a huge practice and all their lab and treatment capabilities in Borough Park.
  • ISO fertility doctor who accepts GHI/Emblem Health

I Second Dr Ross from Genesis.
  • ISO fertility doctor who accepts GHI/Emblem Health

I used Dr. Ross at Genesis Fertility and they took GHI/Emblem. She is great to work with. Low key, which I like. I think if you want someone who is more aggressive, she might not be your person but she made me feel like I had some autonomy in the process, which I appreciated.
  • Fertility clinic advice

I went to Genesis Fertility in Brooklyn. I needed a facility with very early hours to accommodate My inflexible work start time of 8am, I used Dr Ross for my second kiddo and appreciated her approach to modify my protocols as needed. Dr Grazi also works at the Facility and I’ve heard wonderful things about him as well.
  • IVF in 40s, donor eggs etc

I used Dr. Katherine Ross at Genesis in Brooklyn and I loved her. She and her team really took time with us. We had 2 failed rounds of IUI then 3 failed rounds of IVF but they couldn't pinpoint the cause as we got plenty of eggs upon retrieval and they would fertilize but they would die before maturation so it was really frustrating. We finally decided it was the health of my eggs so she talked to me about supplements to help.
  • Doctor recommendations for multiple miscarriages

I saw Dr. Grazi while consulting with a few IVF clinics in late 2019 after multiple losses. He seemed excellent and I did all of my blood panels and some other diagnostic testing with his office. My one critique is that his clinic seemed a little disorganized and I often encountered longer wait times than anywhere else. I heard from other women that they had experienced scheduling or clerical issues there as well. Ultimately, I ended up choosing Weill Cornell and made the trek to the Tribeca office.
  • Doctor recommendations for multiple miscarriages

Dr. Grazi, or any of the doctors at Genesis Fertility. I saw Dr. Fayouzi there after a miscarriage but I think she has relocated to California. Dr. Grazi is well known and I know a number of people that saw him and had success. This practice was recommended by my OB and I was very happy with the care I received from everyone there. Good luck!

  • [Spring2016Babies] Fertility clinics

We also worked with the doctors at Genesis. The doctor I worked with has since left and started her own practice, but I did also see Dr. Ross a few times-she was wonderful. She also works out of the park slope office.
  • [Spring2016Babies] Fertility clinics

Genesis fertility. I can not say enough amazing things about the brand new facility the amazing doctors and staff! Dr. Richard Grazie is the one to see! Happy to talk to her as well about my experience.
  • Review submitted via 2015 Birth Survey

Review: Dr. Makarov and the Genesis staff helped us to become pregnant after being unsuccessful on our own. My husband and I each had several tests to see if there was anything prohibiting us from getting pregnant and then after all was cleared, we moved on to medication and then finally IUI. The staff were very helpful with questions and appointments. Insurance: My insurance covered everything. Based on a January 2015 birth
  • Re: [ANONYMOUS] Fertility advice

I'm sorry that you've not been successful yet. My husband and I also tried for 2 years before ultimately conceiving (through IVF). Just wanted to let you know that we used Genesis Fertility. They have an office in Park Slope where Dr. Kulp-Makarov works. She is very warm and flexible; she does not push invasive procedures. I told her I was hesitant to move to IVF, and she supported our decision to continue with less invasive options until we finally decided to go the IVF route. I'm not sure if she will take your insurance, but if so, I think you would find a consultation with her helpful. Also, FYI you might want to do some more reading before trying Clomid. While many OB/GYNs will prescribe it alone as a first-line measure for infertility, research has suggested its success is limited when not combined with other interventions, such as IUI.
  • Re: [ANONYMOUS] Need fertility specialist for 2nd opinion

I'm so sorry for your losses. I, too, had two miscarriages before becoming pregnant with my son (now one), and I also had some mutations on the MTHFR gene (compound, heterozygous). I used the Bay Ridge office of Genesis Fertility and I thought they were wonderful. I had some blood tests in the Park Slope office but didn't have any interaction with the doctor there. It was a schlep to get to Bay Ridge every week but ultimately it felt very worth it. For my next pregnancy I'll probably investigate the Park Slope office, so please post to list, and I wish you the very best of luck! (I also had a consultation with a MFM specialist at Mount Sinai after my MTHFR diagnosis. He said in his opinion it wasn't related to the miscarriages and I shouldn't do anything about it. But I decided (with support of the Genesis Fertility doctor) to take baby aspirin throughout the pregnancy, and it stuck. I can't say whether it was related, but there seemed little downside to the baby aspirin and potentially a lot of upside, and I'm happy with my decision.) (Reviewed March 2015)

Sorry for your losses. I too started off at Methodist but it wasn't a good fit for me. I went over to genesis and used dr Makarov. Who was great!!! Unfortunately, the park slope office is a very small offsite ( I only went there for a consultation, blood test and ultrasound . Most time you will have go to the bay parkway office.
