  • Summer Program Recommendations?

We have been doing the program at Old Stone house which is wonderful! My almost 8 year old likes the variety of garden, cooking on the open fire, playing in the playground, puppet making the list is endless. And Maggie and Emily who work it are both very nice people.

Age of Child: 8 Likes: The creativity, the different experience, getting her hands dirty, playing with worms! What would you change? More variation in activities. Would you send your child(ren) again? Yes Do you recommend? Highly recommend Do you have any other information to add? The gardening educator, Bruni Torras, was great! Really informative, friendly, down-to-earth and worked well with the kids.

My daughter participated in Bruni's Garden Explorer's camp at the Old Stone House last summer when she was 8- This was a wonderful 2 week camp in the garden, inside PS 51 if it was too hot, studying plants and gardening, making vinegar, doing flower presses, making paper, creating fresh salads, exploring neighborhood gardens and enjoying nature within our community. Bruni and her assistant are kind and thoughtful and the group is small and full of fun and great energy. My daughter loved her 2 weeks with Bruni and learning about the gardens, the plants and doing all of the activities that brought everything together. We are in no way financially or otherwise connected to OSH.
