You can find manga at Galaxy Comic bookstore in Park Slope (on 5th Avenue between 9th and 8th Street). You can call ahead and make sure they have what you’re looking for.

Galaxy Comics on 5th Ave (near 8th St); the staff there could probably steer you toward what makes a good "starter' set.
