  • Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey

Tricia Phillips (home birth class)and Michelle Arrieta (queer birth class) Tricia helped us be ready for anything regarding home birth, and Michelle made the process of learning about birth safe and hilarious and wondrous!
  • Recommendation for Childbirth Education Class for ...

In case anyone is seeking a childbirth class (or knows other queer folks who are), For Your Birth has created an outstanding two-week class for queer families. https://www.meltmassagenyc.com/childbirth-edu/ My wife and I took this class when we were expecting our second child and felt that it was the perfect refresher. Michele Arrieta, who teaches the class, is the co-founder of the doula service For Your Birth and we were delighted with the compassionate and entertaining approach she took to teaching all of us. Even after giving birth once before, I used countless tips and methods from the class during our baby's birth. Our class created an instant community as well, since we easily connected with the other participants and have stayed in touch with the other families. The classes take place at Melt Massage and is located in Fort Greene. (Also highly recommended for prenatal and post-natal massage!)
