Alternative to Fresh Direct?
+1 for Farm to People. Have been getting food from them for years and highly recommend. We supplement with some items from Whole Foods but can get most of what we need from them.Alternative to Fresh Direct?
I have been using Farm to People, a Brooklyn-based CSA-like model that is flexible and more like a local grocery store. You can opt for a weekly produce box, or buy everything a la carte like a grocery store. It also has meats, seafood, pantry items, baked goods, etc. that may not meet 100% of your grocery needs, but it does a good job with basics and specialty items. Another reason why I like them is because they are very committed to using minimal packaging, with virtually no plastic in deliveries. You can return any ice packs back to the driver (or recycle/compost the contents), and all produce is either unwrapped or in a small brown bag when needed. Finally, it's a company all about local and responsible sourcing, so any partner they work with us vetted and selected for a good purpose.Winter CSA share or aggregated "farm delivery" service
We also do the Farm to People which is gorgeous except I have packaging guilt from it, we are collecting the freezer bags to return to them one day. I guess pre covid they would pick up last weeks packaging which I hope they can begin to do again soon.Winter CSA share or aggregated "farm delivery" service
I love Farm to People which is a CSA box where you can choose what you want each week. Everything has been amazing and then even have meat/cheese and some pantry items. I highly recommend it.
