Emma McCabe, CBC
Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing SurveyWhat month and year was your child born? September 2022 Review: My wife found Emma to be very helpful. I was more skeptical, and thought it was mixed bag, but I will admit that by the end, Emma’s recommendations seemed to improve how our daughter fed. Usefulness aside, Emma was such a nice person and we enjoyed being in her company during the sessions!
Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing SurveyWhat month and year was your child born? 7/2022 Review: Emma is amazing! Super supportive and knowledgeable and great at challenging cases.
Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing SurveyWhat month and year was your child born? February 2023 Review: Amazing. So helpful and kind; follows up after and let’s you text her with questions long after your appointment.
Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing SurveyEmma’s gray. I think it took months before I finally felt comfortable enough to stop texting her questions. She always responded promptly and gracefully.
Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing SurveyShe has a very calming presence and was very communicative before and after our appointment. She genuinely wanted to help with the lactation process and was also supportive when I was at the point of ending my breastfeeding journey.
Lactation Consultant Rec?I'm on my 3rd LC and really like her. Her name is Emma McCabe. She's lovely and easy to talk to and really helps me take the guilt/anxiety off myself. She's all about making it work for us.
Lactation consultant referral?I Highly highly recommend Emma McCabe. I saw three different lactation consultants for a pretty tricky situation and she was BY FAR the best. Extremely comprehensive, compassionate and ultimately provided the solutions to our issue. After the initial consult she also provided amazing follow up over text and phone. I really can’t say enough good things about her! She also has glowing reviews on PSP
Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyI had a smooth breastfeeding journey until 8 months, and Emma was a huge help to me. She checked in on me every day via text until my issue was resolved.
Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyWonderful. I had one official session with her via zoom. However, she checked in nearly everyday and was available when our baby had a scary, sudden weight loss, as well as a bout of frequent vomiting. She was supportive and helpful. I was in so much pain and panicked I was making the right choices, and felt so assured after working with her. And the pain did stop.
Virtual lactation helpAlso, just want to make one more plug for lactation consultant, Emma McCabe, who was and continues to be extremely helpful!
Virtual lactation helpI second Jessica's recommendation--Emma McCabe is fantastic! She was so helpful in our first meeting and has continued to check in with me since to offer advice and new strategies.
Virtual lactation helpI just saw a lactation consultant, Emma McCabe, today and she was wonderful. I believe she’s done virtual consultations before and was very effective at providing guidance and advice on video. I also have Cigna and not sure if this is specific to my plan, but was told I could submit a superbill with specific codes that are considered in network. It’s on my to-do list for tomorrow to find out more info from Cigna and I’ll share any specifics I learn.
Lactation consultantI worked with a wonderful lactation consultant and her rate was $295 - this includes a (lengthy!) first home visit, and then ongoing text/phone/email communication. I would definitely recommend her! She also provides a billing code to submit for insurance. Her name is Emma McCabe, https://www.emmamccabecbc.com/
Lactation consultantI also came here to recommend Emma. She was incredibly helpful, kind and non-judgmental. I also found the ongoing communication to be really useful.
Lactation consultantI also used Emma McCabe and loved her! I sent you a PM earlier, but if anyone looking for additional support, Emma co-runs weekly lac support circles every Thursday for only $25. She and another LC are super supportive in a safe and positive environment of a small group of women.
Twin lactation consultant recommendations?I worked with Emma McCabe from when my twins were about 6 weeks through the first few weeks back to work at 14 weeks. I don’t know if she had twin experience before me but she struck the right balance of expertise, advice, and encouragement to keep me going when I was ready to give up. One of the things I really appreciated was how she seemed to get the practical concern that I couldn’t survive spending every minute either breastfeeding or pumping. She’s also super responsive over text messages and part of a weekly breastfeeding circle group which made regular follow up more affordable.
2019 Birth SurveyEmma is a fabulous LC. She literally saved my nipples and breastfeeding journey. I am sure I wouldn’t have been able to breastfeed without her. She is caring and wise beyond her years. She is still new but knew so much more than other lactation consultants and doctors I saw. Literally everything she told me ended up right. I couldn’t recommend her more.
