- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyThis is complicated because we received virtual support. Both me and my husband would have benefited from more in-person support which was limited at the time. It felt less like support was tailored to us and our needs than I had anticipated but I am unsure if that is because we were all navigating an unprecedented situation or if I would feel the same way if my birthing experience had happened ore-covid. We did have her on the phone during a few points when we were having trouble figuring out what to do and that was somewhat helpful. We ended up having a doula on staff at the hospital come in for a particularly rough point of my labor and she was phenomenal. Likely because she was awesome and also because she was able to physically be with me in the room.
- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyEmily was a wonderfully supportive and empowering resource for me and my partner at every step of the way through the process. She was a virtual fount of information at our pre-natal appointments and left us feeling confidant and prepared for birth. During an arduous and unmedicated 2 1/2 hours of pushing, Emily was my beacon of zen, and I'm not sure I would have gotten through it without her calm and soothing presence gently motivating me along. Even my midwife (who has met many doulas, no doubt) was impressed with her.
