  • lymphatic drainage recommendations

I go to Element at Union and Henry for local lymphatic massages. Olga is good.
  • Chiropractor or Acupuncturist Reco for Neck and Shoulder Pain

For acupuncture I highly recommend Catherine Fugelsang at Element Natural Healing Arts in Brooklyn Heights. I have been seeing her off and on for years for both general wellness and acute pain issues when they come up. She is great and usually has availability on pretty short notice.
  • acupuncture recommendation?

Also 4 years ago I saw the acupuncturist at Element on Henry St and had a good experience.
  • Acupuncture for breech baby

Christine at Element on Henry Street is wonderful.
  • 2018 Birth Survey

Element Natural Healing Arts for acupuncture and massage post baby (various mommy injuries to back and neck from breastfeeding). They are wonderful, kind, talented!
  • 2018 Review

Elements on Henry st is amazing!
  • Prenatal Massage Recommendations Needed

I highly recommend Andy Clark at Element on Henry Street. I saw him towards the end of my pregnancy when I had a pinched nerve that left my thigh numb. He really helped me. He also had a great deal of knowledge to share. I learned a lot from him the 4 times I saw him. He had great solutions involving pillow placement for sleep positions that were very helpful. He is also a professional dancer which I think gives him even more insight into understanding movement and muscles. http://www.elementhealing.com/andrew-clark/
  • Birth Survey 2012

Review Date: April 2012 REVIEW: I saw Christina for acupuncture starting at the beginning of my third trimester. I was in a very foul mood through my entire second trimester (which is supposed to be the good one!). I don't know if the acupuncture helped or if it was hormones, but I was much happier in the third trimester. I also had terrible pain in my hip, and that entirely went away. Christina is also a wonderful person, I really like her. I started going because I had heard it would make the birth easier. It did not. My baby was turned slightly and never turned the whole way, so my birth was hard (though I didn't have a c-section). I also went because I heard that, if you need acupuncture at the end to induce, it's more effective if you've been going regularly. Also did not work. I saw her nearly every day after my due date, and then finally gave up and stopped going and that was when I went into labor, induced by castor oil. So I'm not sure how much there is to this whole acupuncture thing for birth. But again, it definitely worked for the pain in my hip (why else would the pain have gone away as I became more and more pregnant?). INSURANCE ISSUES: no, Oxford doesn't cover acupuncture. but I got a discount for my insurance. no idea how that worked, but I did not pay the full price.

I cannot recommend Christina Morris at Element Natural Healing Arts (on Henry and Union) highly enough. I think she's the reason why I conceived my first child, and the second one that's arriving at the end of this month. She also helped me induce labor when my first was late, and just before my doctor wanted to break my water. (June 2011)
  • August 2010

I'm 8 mos. pregnant and have had sciatica and hip pain on and off since I was about 20 weeks along. The thing that's worked best for me (in addition to regular stretching of the hip area) is acupuncture at Element on Henry Street in Carroll Gardens. I've seen Jeff there, and he's been really helpful in basically making the problem go away. They accept Oxford insurance, and while there is still a cost involved, it's about 35-40% less with the insurance than without.
