- Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing SurveyWhat month and year was your child born? July 2022 Review: Ebone is beyond amazing. She really has a gift for this work. She was so incredibly supportive of both me and my husband throughout my pregnancy, labor and the weeks immediately following our birth, we couldn’t have done it without her. She’s a mom of 2 (a teen and a toddler), so has first hand experience in a way that’s really special, and although she is on the newer side as a doula, she worked as a social worker for 15 years. Any advice for people who are considering using a birth doula? My mom died 7 years ago and since she couldn’t be there with me as I became a parent, it felt really important to me to have a doula. During labor she was just completely indispensable as a support for my husband so he could be really present with and taking care of me. I feel like in general having a doula (and Ebone in particular) made us feel so much more supported and prepared throughout our whole journey than we would have without.
