What month and year was your child born? January 2023 Review: Excellentrecommendations for Maternal Fetal Medicine at Columbiu
I saw Dr. Georges Sylvestere at Cornell for this exact reason. I had lymphoma a few years ago and was pregnant during the window of possible recurrence. He works with a lot of cancer patients which is nice because you don’t have to explain the cancer stuff over and over (eg he knew the chemo I had taken off the top of his head and the extra screening I would need). He’s very kind and practical and not overly conservative. Highly recommend!MFM and regular OBGYN? Advice Needed
I saw an MFM (Georges Sylvestere) at Weill Cornell and was happy with the experience. I knew I needed an MFM before I got pregnant so I only saw an MFM. I was referred in by my reproductive endocrinologist, who did my first few appointments, so wait times weren’t an issue. I saw the MFM at every appointment, he discussed all my scans with me, and he would have delivered my son but my induction outlasted his shift :) His colleague delivered my son and she was great. When I had questions between appointments I usually spoke with his NP who was amazing. Highly recommend the group. Other friends have developed issues during pregnancy and have continued to see their own OB plus an MFM (eg diabetes). This is likely what I will do next time. I was high risk this pregnancy due to a pre existing condition but I no longer have that condition so I will transition to a regular OB next time around, and see an MFN for one extra scan. A little sad because I loved my doctor!Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? 02/2021 Review: My pregnancy turned high risk after 6 months and I had to switch to a high risk OB. I was referred to Georges Sylvestre. He was reassuring about my issue, but did not give me as much time before or during my postpartum visit as I wanted for all of my questions. That said, he was awesome during the delivery. He was not on call when I went into labor at 32 weeks, but left his office appointments to get there in time to deliver my baby. He really advocated for me when the pediatricians pushed for me to have a C-section and, because of him, I was able to deliver vaginally.Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? April 2022 Review: Dr. Sylvestre is a pro with great bedside manner. My c-section went great from incision to healing. Like all doctors I’ve come across, he could be a wee bit rushed in appointments because of the high demand and lots of patients. Be prepared with questions as he will keep things very brief and to the point. He is responsive to portal messages.Review from the 2021 Birthing Experience Survey
Dr. Sylvestre was the calm in the storm of my recent twin pregnancy. He was the most comprehensive doctor I’ve ever seen before and I trusted his opinion on everything. I could not have gone anywhere better for an OB and since I didn’t have an easy pregnancy, it was so important to find someone as kind and compassionate as Dr. Sylvestre. He answered every question (no matter how stupid or repetitive), and never made me feel dumb. This was my first pregnancy, so I definitely needed a lot more hand-holding. It was such a relief that he had the best bedside manner, and the way he spoke to me before I went into labor was reassuring and made me feel like everything was going to be okay. When I was admitted to the hospital for the last 5 weeks of my pregnancy, he came and checked in on me on his days off rotation. I never felt like I was alone. My twins are on this Earth and I made it to 30 weeks because of him.
