Lactation Consultant: Cori Pleune What month and year was your child born? January 2023 Review: very good. While Cori was knowledgeable and resourceful, we had scheduling and communication issues.Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey

What month and year was your child born? March 2023 Review: Corie was SO helpful to me in managing my oversupply and working through a painful latch. She visited me for a home visit twice in the weeks following birth. I only wish I had proactively set this up before delivery, so I didn’t have to wait / stress about scheduling when I got home.Lactation Consultant Recommendations
We used Cori Pleune and really really loved and appreciated her. She gave me a ton of confidence and strategies and totally improved my breastfeeding experience with baby #2. I was truly miserable with breastfeeding baby #1 and wish I had gotten the right help the first time around. Cori does home visits and provides everything you need to get reimbursed by Cigna (my understanding is that Cigna and most other insurers cover these services under a sort of unusual route where the provider can't be paid by them directly but you pay out of pocket and submit reimbursement details - everything was "covered" for us in the end!) I can't personally speak to her competency/experience with queer families - but hope she could clarify that for you!Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey
What month and year was your child born? 02/2021 Review: I had had a lot of visit with various lactation consultants at the NICU, but none were able to help all that much. We had one at home visit with Cori Pleune, who I found on Boober. She was really great and come up with a plan for me and most importantly made me feel peace with the fact that I wasn't going to be able to primarily breastfeed my baby and that was ok.Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey

Lactation Consultant: Cori Pleune What month and year was your child born? May 2022 Review: Super helpful. I found it worth it to pay for a home visit once and then do video appts after. Cori is really knowledgeable and explains things clearly. She has a calming demeanor that is really great when working thru sensitive issues around breastfeeding.Review from the 2021 Birthing Experience Survey
Cori has been with me for three births, and I think of her like a guardian angel. She is amazing at providing exactly the support that you need when you need it before, during, and after birth. Her reassurance, support, and humor kept me sane when I went more than 2 weeks past my due date with my fourth baby, and she was absolutely indispensable at the birth. She is the greatest.Lactation consultant referral?
I absolutely love Cori Pleune who not only showed me how to nurse my firstborn, but also just helped me understand how to care for a newborn AND myself. She was a literal life saver (queue jokes we can now make which weren’t funny at the time of me wanting to return my baby .... )Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Cori attended three of my 4 births. I was feeling a ton of anxiety about this most recent birth it’s just knowing that Cori would be there put me so much more at ease. She is great at recognizing and meeting other people‘s needs and did a wonderful job of coaching me through labor. She also makes all of the mess magically disappear and is great support for getting a baby nursing. She is super experienced, and it shows! I highly recommend her.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I can not recommend Cori enough! She came to my apartment the morning after our first night home with our daughter (firstborn). I credit her for “saving” my life as I was at my wits end from an incredibly long and difficult labor and delivery, suffering baby blues and delirious from sleep deprivation. She really coached me not only on lactation but also schedule, sleep, how to handle baby and what to expect of myself and our new life. She’s also a doula and postpartum doula and I would recommend who for all of those roles (even though she wasn’t my doula I would’ve hired her if ever I was attempting a VBAC).Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Cori is the Best!!! I actually saw two others that I won’t mention, but Cori is the one who got my baby to latch without a nipple shield! My son had been nursing with the shield for a few weeks and doctor said he wasn’t gaining well so we were supplementing. As soon as he latched without the shield the experience changed and we became pros.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
We saw Cori when our son was about three weeks old. She was extremely warm and patient, answered all of our questions as first time parents and assured us that everything was normal. She never made us feel like any question was too silly and was a joy to have around for a few hours. I continued to reach out to Cori in the weeks and months after with breastfeeding Qs and concerns and she was more than happy to help. Highly recommend!Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I had some major pain and my baby wasn't gaining weight. I found Cori through Boober and it was awesome because I set up the appointment after our pediatrician appointment, and she came at 5:30 that night! We ended up needing to fix my daughters tongue-tie, but in the meantime, she was magic and gave me lots of hope when I was super stressed and in so much pain.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Cori at Boober and Denise McDonald at Bend and Bloom Yoga I had many different consultants because I had a really hard time breast feeding for many weeks. But these two women in particular were both instrumental in my ability to continue breastfeeding. Cori practically saved me from mental breakdown when she came to my home a week or 2 after the baby was born. She was AMAZING and efficient and available for follow up questions. I really liked her.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
Cori was great! We had a scare when our daughter was 4 days old and she was losing too much weight. We were asked by our pediatrician to supplement her feeds with formula but I couldn't get her to even latch and was very concerned about my milk supply as well. Cori came the day we reached out to her (on a Saturday), she spent a lot of time with us and helped us do a weighted feed. Ultimately, we ended up having to check our daughter in to the hospital due to severe dehydration but Cori was amazing. She kept in touch and asked how we were doing. We had another session with Cori after the hospital and learned a lot more about different positions and things to try to help get the best nursing sessions possible.Lactation consultant
We hired Cori Pleune, who was recommended by our birth doula (the amazing Sarah Pancake). Cori was great and lives in park slope. She charged $325 for a session, which included a full report of the session, unlimited text/calls post-session, and online resources. She can be reached at (917) 554-8442 or cori.pleune@gmail.comISO Recommendations for Postpartum Doula
Congrats on your impending arrival! I worked with Cori Pleune as a postpartum doula after the birth of my daughter three years ago. She was absolutely wonderful! Came to the hospital the day after my daughter was born, helped me with nursing, and came to my home several times for general check in and help. I’m due with my 2nd and this time we hired her as a labor & delivery doula. :) Here’s the link to her website for contact info - http://dosdoulas.com/bios.Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey
Literally made my experience amazing, I have referred all pregnant folks to them! They were the best part of my birth other then holding my sweet baby. Worth every penny. Based on aug birth experienceReview submitted via 2015 Birth Survey
I have delivered twice with Sarah Kaylor by my side, and I highly recommend her. She is extremely knowledgeable, intuitive, comforting, and calm. She works beautifully with other medical staff. She understood what was important to me and helped guide the decision making process to help me get there. She helped me avoid unnecessary interventions and also gave me a framework when I did have to consider interventions that hadn't been in my original plan. Based on a 2015 birthLater in Life Pregnancy
dos doulas are the most amazing women and i know have done births with many women in their 40s. Cori has two kids and I'm not sure of her age but i don't think she's under 35. They may be ok with talking with you or sending you someplace where you feel supported and they are amazing doulas.Re: Doula for second birth?
We booked a doula at the last minute with my 2nd pregnancy and I can highly recommend them. They're called Dos Doulas (dosdoulas.com). They're a team of two but only one attends your birth. You meet both of them so that you know the backup in advance. We really liked both of them, they were so down-to-earth, funny and kind. This was especially comforting to me as my doula experience with my first birth was far from positive (completely different doula). We found having a doula second time around really helpful and reassuring. The main reason for me choosing to have one though was because I'd had a homebirth with my first and opted for a hospital birth with my second, so having a doula made us feel more comfortable experiencing a hospital birth for the first time. Another thing is that second births are often (but obviously not always) much quicker, and mine certainly was, so having extra support from our doula was beneficial to both myself and my husband.(no subject)
I highly recommend Cori Pleune based on my experience working with her as a post-partum doula. I am a first time mom and Cori began working with me a few days after the birth of my son. She helped me with everything from breastfeeding support, caring for my newborn (bathing, changing, caring for the umbilical stump etc.) to assembling and using the mysterious gear that comes along with a baby (car seat, stroller, baby carrier, breast pump). She helped me become more confident about caring for my son and when I was tired it was such a relief to have another set of experienced hands to soothe him. Cori made life easier for us with her knowledge, experience and calm demeanor. I am so happy we found her and would recommend her to anyone looking for post-partum support.(no subject)
Cori and Sarah from Dos Doulas are awesome - Cori attended both of our home births. (September 2011)(no subject)
I second the recommendation for Sarah and Cori! www.dosdoulas.com. They are strong and experienced and kind - everything I wanted in a doula. My labor wasn't long with my daughter, but I had a pitocin drip looming if I didn't get things moving on my own and Sarah helped me get there, and through a great birth experience. They are often booked up well in advance, but give them a call. (reviewed August 2010)(no subject)
Sarah of Dos Doulas was my doula and I cannot say enough good things about her. Ours was a very LONG at home labor and delivery and Sarah was my rock. You can't go wrong with her or Cori. (reviewed August 2010)(no subject)
I had a fantastic doula, Cori Pleune, who is part of Dos Doulas--Sarah Kaylor, the other half of the Dos, is also fantastic--I recommend them wholeheartedly! Extremely knowledgeable, experienced, reassuring, attentive, warm, great with the nurses and doctors. (reviewed August 2010)(no subject)
We hired Cori Pleune as a post-partum doula and it was the best money we could have spent as new parents! Especially during those first frenzied days, Cori was such a welcome support system. Cori has such a gentle, encouraging demeanor about her--and I felt completely comfortable with her from our first meeting. Not to mention, she is incredibly knowledgable. She helped us with everything...breastfeeding, bathing the baby, packing a diaper bag, assembling the stroller, soothing a crying newborn...you name it. In fact, those first few days of breastfeeding were terribly rough on me; and were it not for Cori's encouragement I would not have continued with it. When we felt like we were doing everything wrong, she made us feel like the world's most qualified parents. I'll always be grateful for her help, and I highly recommend her services. I highly recommend Cori Pleune of Dos Doulas for post partum doula services. I hired Cori for post-partum care with my second child -- it had been six years since my first was an infant and I was hoping to get some assistance and a refresher about the world of infants. Cori was excellent and very knowledgeable and relaxed about working with us and explaining baby-soothing, baby care, helping with breastfeeding issues, sling wearing and generally talking and doing all things baby and household. I had an unexpected c-section and was so glad to have the extra help, and also the extra reminder to rest more and relax in the early days. Cori's knowledge and her pleasant attitude were both extremely helpful. (March, 2010)
