- good mechanicDave at DLJ 718-499-6793 next to Costco- on 39th or 40th st is a great mechanic and a nice guy. You can take the R train from 38th and 4th if you need to leave it. His wife helps run the place and they will pick us up at Costco if we’ve done a big shop while they were working on the car. There isn’t a good waiting room - especially in Covid times.
- Reputable car repair close by - brakesI second DLJ. Dave is great, and his whole shop is honest. I once had a question about a battery replacement that I did myself. His guy reconnected the cables for me, and Dave asked to keep the car for the day to make sure the battery didn’t die. Called me the next morning having taken it for a test drive, assured me everything seemed to be fine, and charged me nothing. $0. He said, “Eh, I don’t know if there’s really anything to charge you for. See you next time.”

- ISO: honest reliable car mechanicI have going to David at DLJ Enterprises since 1997. His shop is across from Costco. I can’t say enough good things about his honesty and I can’t count the times he has saved my butt.
