Review from the 2024 Summer Camp Survey
Location: Pacific Street (across from Barclay's Center) REVIEW: Our rising second grader attending two week long camps at Created By Kids. The first week was pottery using the wheel and what a variety of projects they created! The second was an environmental art focused week. Again- lots of diversity of media and projects. The staff are kind and helpful. The kids go out for an hour around midday to run around. Our kiddo loves this camp! CHANGES: I can't think of anything. Location: Pacific Street by Barclay's Center How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6.5 years old Review: Created By Kids is awesome at its creative and engaging projects with kids. This summer, our child attended week-long sessions focusing on art and engineering as well as pop-art. There was a great variety of media explored. Our child likes the camp counselors and is proud of her products. The camp goes to a nearby playground after lunch for some run around time. Smart!Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey
Location: Brooklyn, NY How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 5 Review: My son loved CBK art camp. There was a great mix of art, games, and outdoor play. We plan to return during school breaks. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? The camp had a daily check in and masks were encouraged but not required.Shoutout for Created By Kids
I just wanted to give a shout out to Created By Kids after school art classes. My five year old recently attended their after school studio art class. He was so excited and proud of the work he created there. Their teaching artists are wonderful, the projects the kids do are imaginative and beautiful quality. Highly recommend!summer art camp?
My daughter has attended various camps at Created by Kids for years. She is also an artist. You should call them and and see if they have what you are looking for. It looks like they have some “fine arts” offerings this summer and I am sure there are more details there on their site. We love them because they have a convenient location and our kid still enjoys going there on occasion. You can also check places art colleges to see if they have kids drawing programs. https://www.createdbykidsnyc.com/camps-summer-campsReview from the 2017 PSP Summer Camp Survey
My son LOVED this camp. Every week had a specific theme (Space) and each day the children created a piece of art about it (a clay alien statue one day, a paper mache planet another, sewing the zodiac sign in white thread on black fabric, etc). Equally important, they went to play outside at a nearby playground every day so it was the perfect blend of indoor/outdoor, learning/running that he loves. If you could change anything, what would it be? Nothing- totally loved it and very reasonably priced! Age of child: 6 Based on a Summer 2017 experienceSummer Camp Survey 2016
Age of child: 8 Review: Having a wonderful time with creative art and construction projects and enough running around (a post-lunch session) to keep him relaxed and focusedReview from 2015 Summer Camp Survey
Age of Child: 8 Likes: Lots of great themes, very creative, lots of hands on art What would you change? Ends too early, should go to 5 pm for the price Would you send your child(ren) again? Yes Do you recommend? Highly recommend Do you have any other information to add? Feel like the kids might age out of the program by 9 so not sure we're going back next year. But a very worthwhile program otherwise!Created by Kids - Highly Recommend!
I wanted to give a little shout out to a great art studio "Created by Kids" located on Pacific Street right by Barclays Center. I just discovered CBK this past fall and my daughter loves, loves it! Classes are 2 hours long and all instructors are educated in the arts as well as great with kids! The owners Renee and Matt are knowledgeable, gracious and organized! They are also engaged to be married which I find beyond sweet! If your child loves art and you like supporting local shops please check them out!!! If you’re looking for something small and craft oriented, my 5-year-old son really loves Created by Kids on Pacific St. It’s only about 8-10 kids (of varying ages from 4 to about 10 – which seems to work fine, with bigger kids just doing more complicated work) at a time, and they do a variety of crafts, including pottery on the wheel and jewelry-making as well as more traditional kids’ arts stuff. The kids also do go out to play in a nearby park every day for a bit. It runs 9-4 with an extended day till 5, and it’s running from mid June to the end of August. Created by Kids also has weekend classes, so your daughter could check the place out with one of those (they’re also doing a spring break camp, which doesn’t look like it’s full yet and which you can sign up for by individual days).Re: Day camps Labor Day week?
I do! There is an awesome new art studio called Created by Kids on Pacific st between Flatbush and 4th ave. The owner Rene has been running after school programs throughout Brooklyn. She has clay work, pottery wheels, print making and jewelry making. We have enjoyed her weekend classes and they are also hosting a camp. She specifically mentioned that week. Her site is createdbykidsnyc.com. The space is lovely and is super convenient with transportation. We are neighbors and we are so excited to have her and her staff on the block.
