  • Review from the Spring 2024 Afterschool Survey

Age: 4 Types of Program Dance class Review This was an intro to dance class for our 4 year old. She liked but did not love it. The teacher seemed engaging. I found the school very rigid -- for instance they do not offer make ups if a child is absent (even if this is known in advance) and they only allow one adult to come see the "showcase" at the end of the semester. I am told this is a great school for more advanced dancers but for beginners we had a more positive and warm experience at Mark Morris and will be returning there.
  • Review from the 2024 Summer Camp Survey

Dance & Clay Location: Cobble Hill/Columbia Waterfront REVIEW: This camp was sweet and simple, and my child learned a lot. She is begging to go back to every week next summer and it was her favorite camp so far. Each day included ballet classes, modern classes, lunch and playground time, and pottery in the afternoon at the clay studio next door. The children learned choreography they performed for each other at the end of the week and it was impressive! CHANGES: nothing DETAILS: Age of child; 7 … Weeks attended: 1

    Cobble hill ballet. Love it
  • Re: high level dance class

If she is interested in Ballet only, I would also recommend Cobble Hill Ballet on the Columbia Waterfront. My youngest took classes there and Collette the Director has a great program that goes thru tween/teen I think.

Cobble Hill Ballet in Carroll Gardens has some adult classes after work. Great group of women. (April 2012)

My daughter takes ballet at Cobble Hill Ballet which is great, but a trek from PS. (Jan 2011)

My older daughter did ballet at Cobble Hill Ballet for two session, and while I really liked a lot of things about it, I found that their schedule fills up too fast and we discontinued there when we ended up with a Saturday option that wasn't really ideal. I am a graduate student and have to plan my kids' activities around my class schedule, which means I can't always register the second registration opens.
