Review from the 2025 Birthing SurveyChristine intuited everything I needed during labor. I had terrible back contractions and didn’t want to use medication so the counter pressure she applied during contractions became my medication. I was drowning in pain and discomfort and feeling helpless before she arrived at my home to help me labor there first. Once she got there, she created a comforting environment and reminded me that this was all a means to an end and that end was a baby! She empowered me to breathe with strength during contractions. She helped my husband take care of himself so that he could be energized when the tougher moments came. When we got to the hospital, she helped me navigate a delivery in triage! They were going to move me to the OR, but she got them to bring in the midwife and help me deliver then and there. She also gave us helpful advice for weeks after delivery, as we navigated other clinical care and was an ear for anything that came up.
