  • Pediatric Allergist Recommendation?

I second Dr. Cascya Charlot. She is fantastic and great with kids!
  • Pediatric Allergist Recommendation?

I second the rec for Dr Charlot. The office isn't super stroller friendly (small wonky steps up from the street and very narrow hallways) but the staff is really nice and Dr Charlot was great so if you can bring the babe on foot or toddler carrier.
  • Pediatric Allergist Recommendation?

We had a good experience at Allergy & Asthma Care of Brooklyn (60 Plaza St East location) - we saw Dr. Cascya Charlot and she was great.
  • Allergist / dermatologist rec?

I take my daughter to Allergy and asmtha care at Grand Army Plaza. She has multiple food allergies and we have gotten two rounds of skin testing. We are happy with them and it's convenient.
  • Allergy DR recommedations

My kids go to Allergy and Asthma Care of Brooklyn: https://www.brooklynallergydr.com/ and they are great. They get annual skin prick tests and I go there as well and am currently getting allergy shots myself. As long as they accept your insurance, you should have no problem.
  • Pediatric Allergist?

I have a local pedictric allergist - Dr Cascya Charlot, she has a few locations around Brooklyn. She was recommended by the Methodist Hopsital after one of the ER visits. She is lovely and patient and the staff there are nice too. Until my son is older, I will just keep going to her, it is such a pain going all the way to Mt Sinai.
  • 2018 Review

I wanted to provide positive feedback regarding our recent visit to Dr. Cascya Charlot (allergist) at the Plaza St. office in September 2018. Despite a bit lengthier wait in the waiting room of 45”, I would still return as Dr. Charlot was thorough, great with my 3 year old, and took extra time to explain everything to us. My daughter ended up having a negative allergy test for environmental allergens, but she still spent the time discussing our issue to try to figure out next steps. Her office staff was nice and the office is updated (in a new location) from a few years ago when we went there. They have a tv in the room and little play area with table, chalkboard, and a few toys that kept my daughter entertained while she had to wait for a while.
  • [PSPFoodAllergyGroup] new to egg allerrgy/allergist recommendations

We went to Allergy & Asthma Care for testing peanuts/nuts allergy for testing. My son tested positive to peanut and Brazil nut, so he was sent to have blood test at Quest. In contrary of what somebody have mentioned, we were told that if the blood test did not come positive for other tree nuts, we should start feeding him with other nuts products, which is supposed to help not to develop other allergies. So it seems like it is case by case basis? We only saw nurse practitioner when we were there for testing, but I have spoken with doctor (Dr. Charlot) who called me for follow up after I sent some questions. She sounded nice and answered my list of questions. Since then I have made appointment at Mt. Sinai because it was very highly recommend by many. The earliest opening was March (though I was told to contact back to see if there are early cancellation). I hope the information helps for you to make the best decision.

Sorry that I don't have time to go into details but I too would recommend staying away from Allergy and Asthma Care. I had a terrible experience with them and they were terribly and unnecessarily alarmist when I came in with my the 9 month-old after his anaphylactic reaction to formula. Among other things, they advised me to stay away from foods that he was completely fine with when I decided to follow Dr. Moreau's (and her wonderful predecessor's, Dr Cox) advice after asking them for a second opinion. I totally recommend Dr. Moreau and Dr. Cox, who is now at Mt Sinai.

I've used Allergy and Asthma Care of Brooklyn and had a series of bad experiences, including both billing/front office problems and bad advice from the doctor. Here are two examples - first, my 2 year old tested positive on a skin prick test for a dog allergy (despite having no symptoms of allergies to our dog), and the doctor told us to get rid of our dog right away. We didn't follow the advice and it turned out to have been a false positive. Second, my two year old tested positive on a skin prick test to allergies to pistachios and cashews and we were told to avoid all tree nuts forever. We moved to Mt Sinai, where we have been very happy, and were told to give our son all of the nuts as often as possible, except pistachios and cashews, and that withholding the other nuts could actually cause more allergies. So my personal advice is to stay far away!
  • [PSPFoodAllergyGroup]Good Brooklyn allergy Dr. besides Dr. Cox?

We also had bad experiences at Dr. Charlot's office, and moved to Mt. Sinai.

  • Re: any recommendations for an allergist for an infant?

Dr Cascya Charlot at Allergy & Asthma Care of Brooklyn is also great. She works with Dr Erstein, who was already recommended.

I took my daughter to see Dr. Charlot when we suspected she had an allergy. Dr. Charlot was great! The wait time was reasonable (less than an hour) and she spent a considerable amount of time talking to us about my daughter's history. I don't think she's a pediatric allegist per se, but she's great with the little ones. August 2012

I went in to see Dr. Charlot after she was recommended to me not only by PSP but by my neighbor. My 6 year old daughter has a number of issues with allergies and we had a terrible experience in the past with another allergist. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised to see how they handled her. The staff was attentive and really went out of their way to make this a pleasant experience. They are truly experts when it comes to skin testing young children! We have had 2 visits so far and I have been able to see both Dr. Charlot and Dr. Ersteine and they were both great. Although the office was busy, Dr. Charlot spent a lot of time speaking to my husband and I and I felt like she was very thorough. When we saw the other Doctor, he was also very nice and pleasant. I would recommend this office. August 2012
