  • Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Clinton Hill/Ft Greene How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 4 Review: My child liked it What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? A lot of outdoor time, maybe too much, my kid was exhausted but it was also the hottest summer ever.
  • Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Fort Greene, Brooklyn How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6 Review: My son attended Camp Fort Greene for 5 weeks this summer. The camp is located in Bishop Loughlin High School, though they spent much of the day outside in local parks. The staff-camper ratio was excellent, probably about 2-1 (including junior counselors). My son looked forward to attending camp each day and often did not want to leave. Photos were posted on Facebook each day and the camp did a great job keeping us updated on weekly activities and changes to the schedule. We are looking forward to next year already!
  • Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Fort Greene How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 4, rising K Review: Solid, affordable option. Camp was fine and kid did ok there. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Very local, convenient option. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? No covid issues. They masked indoors, but did not have strict testing protocols or anything.
  • camps for rising Kindergarteners?

Last year we tried two camps: Alamander and Camp Fort Greene. Both of these are some of the most affordable options for full-day I've seen. I've heard mixed opinions about both. Alamander was a little too free range for me. I know one of the moms who started Camp Fort Greene so I'm biased, but I think it's really well-run and has great intentions (in it for the kids and staff and not just to make money). I highly recommend it for anyone who wants their kids to have a lot of outdoor time in local parks and playgrounds.
