Buttermilk Bakeshop’s vanilla are absolutely heaven! And have the slight cream cheese style frosting (I think, if I recall correctly) similar to carrot cake.Me want cookies. Cookies are for me.

We always buy ours at Buttermilk Bake Shop. You can mix and match fillings and cakes to create whatever you want and they look classically festive. I find their serving sizes to be a little overblown with the way most adults eat cake today, so you can size down from their recommendations... or don't. We love the cookies at Buttermilk Bakeshop. They are our go-to host gift when we visit with friends. They cookies are big enough that they will be similar to having cupcakes for all the guests if that's what you're looking for. The snickerdoodle is a particular favorite of ours.Themed Cupcakes

Buttermilk Bakeshop does them and I love their cakes. And if you want ice cream, I believe Ice Cream House in Kensington does ice cream cakes with transferred photos. I’ve never had a cake from there but I have had the ice cream and it’s pretty good. It’s kosher/in an Orthodox section of Kensington so won’t be open Friday afternoon or Saturday. I just had my son's 7th birthday party at Buttermilk Bakery on 5th Ave and it was AWESOME!! My son and his friends made cupcakes and decorated them. He was so happy. Each child had a chance to crack eggs, beat the batter, and put on their own frosting! The staff made everything really easy. I highly recommend Buttermilk Bakery for your birthday cake needs. I wanted a nice medium sized ladybug cake, everywhere else wanted hundreds of dollars for this request. Buttermilk's folks were very communicative, they asked me to describe it, send pictures of what I wanted and voila! it was done.
