Bumble Bee provides a warm, caring, and supportive environment for infants and toddlers- highly recommend! It was truly our daughter's home away from home. She attended BB full-time - first in their infant room starting at 4 mos and then in the toddler program through 2.5 yrs (she only left for 3K). Eunice, the head of the program, is wonderful. She is accessible, helpful, always available for a phone call, and very hands-on, so she knows each child well. The staff in both the infant and toddler room are great. They supported our daughter (and us, as first-time parents!) through her many transitions (bottles to solids, crawling to walking, nap schedules etc). Our daughter was always excited to go to daycare, and was in good spirits at pickup. Other things we appreciated: private and spacious outdoor space where they also do winter and summer activities (splash pad, picnics, etc), food provided/included in tuition once your child starts eating solids (the convenience of this is not to be underestimated...), very flexible in general, photos/videos/messaging easily accessible via Bright Wheels app. BB is a special place!

This is a review of Bumblebee's infant program (run on the 2nd floor of their facility), which my little one has been in since he was 3-4 months old. This daycare is such a gem. The carers are very loving and attentive. They support my LO going through developmental leaps by giving lots of tummy time, playmat time, etc. so that he has army crawled, crawled, cruised, and started walking under their care. They work with our baby's existing habits to schedule feeds and naps. We communicate with them via the Brightwheel app, where they post updates re: naps, feeds, diapers, and photos in real time and we can give / get advice regarding sleep regressions, transitioning to solids, etc. Another bonus is the safe outdoor space and special activities planned around the seasons and holidays (summer wading pool, holiday finger paints sensory play, etc.). We also appreciated their flexibility in schedule as we have moved from part-time to full-time care with them.

Location: 258 4th Ave, 2nd floor Type of facility: Daycare Review: My daughter has been going to Bumble Bee's infant program since she was 6 months. I visited the facility when I was expecting, and committed the deposit a month after she was born. The infant floor is kept clean and organized but a little dark. There's a room in the back with Pack n Plays for napping, a kitchen/feeding area with a high chair and loungers, and a foam-padded play area. There is outdoor space but infants are only occasionally taken outside when the weather is nice. Meals are provided to kids one year and older. The caretakers are very warm and gentle toward the babies. Parents get updates for feeding and diaper changes, occasionally pictures, through the Brightwheel app. What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything? I trust that Bumble Bee provides good care for my daughter, but it's also a pretty no-frill facility. I don't get a lot of information about what she does during the day because there's no feedback or webcam. It's also a little low-tech because we still sign in/sign out in a notebook and pieces of paper (even though the Brightwheel app provides check-in functionality).

Review: We’ve been extremely happy with Bumble Bee. My 2.5 yr old son has been there since he was 4 months old and now is in the toddler room. They are flexible, caring, attentive, and know him so well. He’s had some stormy periods during toddlerhood and they have been really patient and lovely. They have a backyard space that they spend a lot of time in when the weather is nice. We would definitely send our son there again and wish they had a room for older toddlers, as we think that although he could stay another year with them, he might be better off in a setting guaranteed to be kids his age (vs next year at Bumble Bee he could be a. 3yr old there with a mix that includes several 1.5yr olds. Facility amenities: Has outdoor space, Provides meals What would you change about the program? A separate space/room for older toddlers Is there anything you would like to add about how the school handled the pandemic? They were wonderful and flexible!

Highly recommend Bumble Bee on 4th ave and Carroll! Eunice is great and they have PT/FT schedules since you pay by the hours you are there- it’s quite flexible. You can email Eunice daycare.bumblebee@gmail.com We love the staff, our son has learned so many songs and colors and words with them - they are amazing! Also great outs space.

Review: Bumble Bee is fine. Eunice is very responsive via email, sending pictures throughout the day and the caregivers are quick to alert if anything happens (a kid scratches etc). The daily reports, with information on naps, diapers and eating, are essential and occasional parties with parents are fun. It feels a bit like glorified babysitting but I guess that's what daycare is. My baby is happy when we drop him off -- still, I wish the babies got outside more and had a bit more stimulation. PS: I am speaking for the infant floor (upstairs); can't share much about the older kids. … About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours …

My daughter started at Bumble Bee at 12 weeks old and attended daily until almost 2.5 when we moved out of Park Slope. During her time, she was on the infant floor as well as the toddler floor. I cannot say enough good things about Bumble Bee and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking. On the infant floor, they accommodated her schedule and helped her grow from a newborn to a toddler. The ratio of 2:1 for infants is very hard to find, and she got great care because of it. I always felt like the girls loved here like one of their own. On the toddler floor, she flourished with the presence of other toddlers. She learned so much from all of the activities, books and circle time activities, it was always so fun to hear the songs she was learning, books she was reading and the friendships she made. In addition, after age 1 they fed her 3 meals per day and I credit Bumble Bee for being such a good eater and trying many different foods. Eunice is usually able to be flexible when we needed early drop offs or late pickups or most other flexibility that we needed. She manages to keep the child care running smoothly while accommodating family and children’s individual needs and all while making it look effortless. My daughter formed a special bond with each of the caretakers in different ways, and they all got to know her and how she works. While we were excited about our move, leaving Bumble Bee and saying goodbye to everyone there was one of the hardest parts about moving away. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, 2:1 infant care

My son started at Bumblebee when he was 4 months old and we have loved it ever since. We were nervous to hand our boy over to strangers, but I feel that the caregivers at Bumblebee truly love our son, and I feel such a relief to know he is in a loving and happy environment. There is an outdoor space when the weather allows, and the facility is clean and well taken care of. All of the people that work there have great energy and seem to really like working with children. My son requires a daily medication which they are certified to dispense; some places are not, so this is a big help for us. They email me pictures during the day and are very responsive when I have questions. I wholeheartedly recommend Bumblebee and feel lucky to have found it. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change? I wish they had Pre-K! I believe they have a new facility opening soon in Prospect Heights that may take older kids, but I would love to keep our son here until Kindergarten.
  • Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey

We started our daughter here at 3 months and she is almost 2 and we are so happy with our choice. The caretakers get to know each baby and family and work with you on transitions. As she has gotten older, they incorporate more and more developmentally appropriate activities and spend time playing outside. My daughter is happy, well fed, well loved and has learned more than I could have imagined by this age. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals.
  • Review for Bumblebee Daycare

We had a great experience at Bumblebee daycare. My son went there starting at 5 months old and left around 13 months (we only left because we moved, otherwise we would have stayed and I honestly was very sad to leave). Eunice and her team were great. We are first-time parents and the ladies at Bumblebee were great in helping us figure out nap schedules, how much milk he needs, eating solids, etc. We always felt our son was happy and safe with people who cared for him greatly. He was excited to go to daycare in the morning and still smiling when we picked him up. We periodically had to add an extra hour here and there for work commitments and those requests were easily accommodated. I would definitely recommend them!
  • [PSP Working Moms MeetUps] Day Care Recommendations: Prospect Heights/Crown H...

we have liked Bumble Bee on 4th Ave and union. I'm a big fan of daycare :) I've worked in them and our kiddo has been at daycare at Bumble Bee on 4th Ave and Carroll since 6 months (my partner and I each took 3 month parental leaves before that). I'm a teacher so he will be home with me this summer and next year we are going to try Magic Moments daycare in bed-stuy by my school since we may be moving neighborhoods. I definitely highly recommend Bumble Bee although they might not be conveniently located for you. As some one else mentioned to you these places are regulated by the DOH and thus have most of the same policies. As long as you pick a place that's licensed by the DOH and you are able to read or hear some reviews from parents, I have faith your baby will be well cared for most anywhere! It's mostly about your peace of mind since it can be hard to leave baby at first. For me, choosing was mostly about convenience, open communication, and gut feeling. So if the director seems accessible to you and they have systems in place for telling you about your kid's day, they show willingness to chat and send pics etc, that's a big plus for me! And visit places and see how you feel about the atmosphere and staff, that helped me. Good luck! It will work out!
  • Re: Day Care - 10 month old SUMMARY OF RESPONSES

My son is 16 months old and has gone to Bumblebee since he was 5 months. He started on the 3rd floor (youngest babies) and moved down to the bottom floor when he was 11.5 months old, so your son might be down there soon too if he were to go to Bumblebee. We've been really happy so far! Our son seems happy to be there and has never seemed upset the times I've picked him up. Due to appointments and stuff, I'm popped in at all different times of day, and nothing has ever seem amiss or off to me. They've been good about generally following my instructions for stuff, and so far they've helped transition him for stuff like starting solids and moving to one nap really well.
  • Re: Day Care - 10 month old SUMMARY OF RESPONSES

My 6 month old (our first) just started at Bumblebee last week. Everything seems to be going well, although I will admit it has been a bit of a hard transition for me, having him away from home without either of us! Hoping that gets easier with time. So far, I really like how much Bumblebee seems to personalize to each baby, and the staff on the 3rd floor seem to be very good with him. The owner Eunice is very responsive to my emails. The only things that I haven't loved are the smell of the cleaning supplies they use (I think pretty standard at daycare, but I will probably inquire further) and thinking way ahead I have some concerns about the first floor (where older babies seem to be once they can walk) not being as nice of a space. But I like the 3rd floor space where he is now with the babies 0-12 or so months.

Program: Infant Age: < 1 year Review: Our son has been going to Bumble Bee Daycare one day per week for a few months now and we're very happy with the entire staff. The owner, Eunice, has been extremely responsive via email, which is much appreciated! My son went through his separation anxiety phase right about the time we started daycare and everyone was very understanding and helpful. I love that they spend time outside every day (weather permitting) and trust that the staff all takes good care of him. Advice: Trust your instincts!
  • Review of Bumble Bee Daycare

I am so grateful for Bumble Bee Daycare! I researched and visited many, many daycares before we found Bumble BeeThe owner and staff have been great partners in helping raise our son. We have been there a year, and we are only leaving because we are moving out of state. Here are some of the things we love: - Great communication and clear expectations from the very beginning - they are always available via email and phone - home cooked meals - the staff seems genuinely happy and content to be there - they send pictures of my son - there is a healthy balance of order and unstructured playtime - I can drop by whenever I want to see my son, which is very important to me - they always remember the littlest details to tell me about his day, which brings me so much joy - most importantly, my son loves it and as soon as he kisses us goodbye, he can't wait to go join the other kids I heartily recommend Bumble Bee!
  • PSP review/Bumblebee Daycare

My (now) six-month-old son has been attending Bumblebee's infant program for a month now. Like most parents, we were nervous about putting him in full-time daycare but our experience on the infant floor (third floor) has been great so far. Maria and all of the infant caregivers are warm, caring and organized. They are so sweet and affectionate with our son; it feels like dropping him off with family. We also really appreciate that the caregiver to child ratio is very low (2 babies for each caregiver), so he gets lots of individual attention. The owner, Eunice Lee, has been wonderful to work with and is very responsive in person and over email. I would highly recommend Bumblebee for infant daycare.
  • Review Submitted via Fall 2015 Daycare/Preschool Survey

PROGRAM: 4th Avenue TIME: 4 full days a week AGE: < 1 year REVIEW: We had to start Frances in daycare sooner than we would have liked but the folks at Bumble Bee have made the process so manageable. Frankie is an exclusively breastfed baby and they make space for me to pump when I drop her off and pick her up, as well as helping us get her adjusted to taking a bottle in the beginning. Additionally, they're always warm and welcoming when I want to visit her midday and even offered my husband the opportunity to call them directly when he took a few days to watch Frankie solo. Eunice, the owner also sends me pictures of her whenever I ask. I highly, highly recommend them! WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Highly recommend WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN? Absolutely
  • Daycare.Preschool.2014 Review

Length of Time: Full time, 5 days per week Child's Age: 1-2 years Review: I had a great experience sending my daughter to Bumble Bee. She bonded strongly with 3-4 care providers who were always excited to see her. They had a good daily schedule, including lots of story time, arts and crafts, songs, learning numbers, letters, animals, etc, and of course, play time. They have a fenced in playyard outside, so the kids can get fresh air each day. They don't do "organic," but the providers rotate making snacks, lunch, and dinner for the kids (mac and cheese, quesadillas, chicken soup, etc.). They have three floors right now: one for pre-walkers, one for walkers younger than 18 months, and one for toddlers. They provide a daily sheet with everything my child ate, drank, and excreted (!). They also let me know if there was a behavioral issue (biting other kids) and how they handled it (time out in a bouncer). When she was very little and spitting up a lot, we traded ideas on how to help her keep her food down. I really relied on them to give me guidance and ideas. Recommend (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Recommend Would you send your child again? Absolutely
  • Review of Bumble Bees R Us Daycare

Bumble Bees R Us- INFANT ROOM ONLY (Sorry to specify in all caps but we think extremely highly of the 6 weeks - 2 yr room and have had a very negative experience with the 2-5 yr room at the same location.) Our son attended the infant/toddler room on the 1st floor (not ground level) at BumbleBees R Us at 501 8th street from the time he was 5 months until he was 2 yrs old. I cannot say enough great things about our experience there. The head teacher Gail is absolutely incredible and has hand picked a staff of loving, caring and kind individuals who extend the same kind of care and professionalism Gail does. Our son came home everyday talking (he was an early talker which I also credit to Gail) about his friends and the things he did that day. He was always rested, clean and well fed when I picked him up with a smile on his face. Most morning he would run into the main room to give the teacher who was there a hug and my departure was quickly forgotten by the love and attention he received. My son went through a biting phase that Gail and her team helped us navigate without putting him down or making us feel bad. Gail and the team were also very gracious and understanding with us and our demanding schedule. We often worked long days or had train problems and Gail was always very understanding about the early drop offs and late pick ups, taking extra care to make sure wells received an extra snack and diaper for the longer evenings and never making us feel guilty for being late. Lastly, being away from my son all day is hard and the team was great about informing me about the day and the things they were seeing in my son so I didn't feel like I was missing anything. If I could have kept our son with Gail and her team forever I would have. I highly recommend the infant room (6 weeks-2 yrs) with Gail at Bumblebees R Us at 501 8th street 1st floor.
  • Recommendation for Bumble Bee Daycare

We are very happy with Bumble Bee Daycare. Their staff is extremely attentive, open, and caring. Our daughter loves going there. They provide 3 healthy and balanced meals with snacks each day. Any time I have reached out to staff, I have received an e-mail or call in a timely manner. I toured several other daycares and Bumble Bee felt like a great fit immediately. I highly recommend them.

Review date June 2013 (for 2012-2013 year) Program: Length of time: 3 full days a week Child's age: 1-2 years Review: There has been a lot of staff changes during our time at Bumblebee, some of which was not communicated well. However, the teachers have been pleasant and very tuned into my daughter's needs. They have been patient with the transitions and very encouraging of her milestones, especially walking. Bumblebee is also one of the very few area day cares that has a part time program which is super helpful. Do you recommend? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Recommend

Review date June 2013 (for 2012-2013 year) Program: Length of time: Full time 5 day a week Child's age: 1-2 years Review: Our son started when he was 5 mo old and he is always happy to go there. I like that they provide a written daily report, that they teach the kids some words, that they have their own playground in the shade. On the negative, there has been a lot of change in the personal and sometime I don't know everybody, they don't always give you back the right clothes ( probably our mistake that we don't right the name on everything) we don't like the food they provide and we rather provide our own. But overall we are happy and would want our second child to be cared for there Do you recommend? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Recommend

Review date June 2013 (for 2012-2013 year) Program: toddler unit Length of time: part time (3 days/week) Child's age: 1-2 years Review: The caregivers are extremely nurturing and gravitated immediately towards my son. One in particular connected so will with him, easing the transition. There is a backyard area for the kids to play in when it is nice and a separate floor for infants so the kids can be in developmentally appropriate units. There was a bit of a turnover of providers when we first started but the owner was quick to address our concerns and communicative throughout the process. They give updates on how well my son eats and sleeps. They were very helpful during his transitioning there. Do you recommend? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Highly recommend
  • Review for BUMBLE BEE DAYCARE

I would love to post a review for Bumble Bee Daycare, My daughter started there when she was 9 months old and she really likes the caregivers and enjoy the other babies company, she specially bond with one of caregivers name Kate and every time I pick her up, she is a happy baby. They are very flexible since I need to change my baby schedule from time to time and I feel so lucky that I found them, so close to my home, flexible, very communicative and the most important thing, they take good care of my baby so I can work with a peace of mind!
  • Re: Feedback on Bumble Bee Daycare

I have a 12 months old baby girl and she started at Bumble Bee when she was 9. At the beginning she wasn't eating well and in the top of that was a very nap resistant baby. They worked with me and with a lot of patient and love my baby gained weight and know naps regularly. They are very flexible with the schedule and when I did my research I found that their prices are very reasonable. It feels like family when I go there, I truly recommend this place!
  • Re: Feedback on Bumble Bee Daycare

I've been taking my daughter to Bumble Bee for over a year. She started at 15 months and is now almost 2.5. We started part-time just one day a week, then went up to 2 days a week, and she's been going full-time since December. We love it. They're very warm and nurturing. it's like taking my daughter to a relative's house more than a "daycare". They sing songs, do art every day, play outside in the back yard. I love that breakfast, lunch and snacks are included if you want them. I'm going to be so sad when my daughter has to go to pre-school. The pros: The staff is warm friendly nurturing Feels like a small family. Your child will make friends with other children. Food is provided (huge plus for me) They're flexible if you want to start part time Lots of art and signing and dancing and reading The prices are reasonable (the research I've done has them $75-100 less per week) Cons: The physical space is a little small. The backyard makes up for it in the warmer weather. To be honest, I've never been inside another daycare so I have nothing to compare it to. But it seems a little small to me. I don't think the kids notice.

I want to recommend Bumble Bee Daycare as a great option for infant and toddler daycare in Park Slope. Our son was at Bumble Bee for 23 months before moving onto a pre-school. During his time at Bumble Bee, our son went from being an infant to a toddler and we went through all the changes in nap schedules and feeding routines that goes along with growing up. The staff was great at communicating with us during these transitions. We loved getting feedback from them and they were very open to our needs as parents. The facilities themselves are wonderful. There's a backyard for the kids to enjoy and there are two floors, so there's some separation of children by age. They're great at communicating via email. They send menus for the week (they cook several meals a day for the kids), general announcements and reminders and even the occasional photo from that day's activities. Those are always a nice treat. Eunice Lee and her staff have become part of our extended family over the last 23 months. We've watched our son grow into a funny, polite and charming child (we're biased) and we think Bumble Bee had a lot to do with that. Even though our boy will be headed to a new school, we look forward to him returning on the occasional day here and there when school is closed. If you're looking through daycare options, I highly recommend checking out Bumble Bee Daycare to see if it's right for you.

Until our son began preschool this fall, he attended Bumble Bee Daycare. We are big fans of the facility, and of the woman who basically runs it, Eunice. (I did a lot of research for the Prospect Heights and Park Slope areas and went to view various places before making a final decision.) Bumble Bee was not only a valuable resource for care during working hours, but also for supplemental babysitting, and we can confidently recommend it to anyone. They provide healthy, balanced regular hot meals and snacks, which is a great help once your little one starts eating solids. They also have daily circle/song time, crafts projects, various skills building toys/activities, and sufficient and regular outdoor play in a well kept area in the back. When our time there came to a close last month, we actually shed a few tears because they'd become like family to us, and we intend to continue to use them as an after school resource and during school closures.

Length of Time: Full 1-2 years I can't say enough good things about our experiences at Bumble Bee Daycare. My wife and I started sending our son there in December when he was 8 months old. Since then, we've watched him go from a crawler to a walker and a babbler to a talker. Our son has been at Bumble Bee Daycare long enough for his nap schedule and feeding routine to change a couple of times. Each of those transitions was handled extremely well by the staff. They communicated the progress, welcomed our suggestions and we welcomed theirs. We are very happy with how flexible and cooperative they have been with us. We appreciate being able to communicate with the staff via email. It's really convenient and we absolutely love when they send pictures of our son during the day. It's a small thing, but it's so great to see what he's up to (especially when he's playing in the backyard). Overall, we highly recommend Bumble Bee Daycare. The caring staff recognizes and appreciates the unique personalities of every child they encounter. Do You Recommend? Highly recommend (Review date: December, 2011)

Length of Time: F/T s place!! My son was here from the time he was 4 mos old until 10 mos (we moved him strictly for logistical issues and were very sad to have to leave). The caregivers are all young and experienced women who really seem to enjoy working with young babies. My son had constant ear infections and they were very patient with his neediness and are also licensed to give medications! It is on the ground floor of a building and has a nice outdoor space in the back. The toys are all new and the place is very clean. There is a separate room in the back for napping. As a special treat, they often sent me pictures of my son during the day which always made me smile and helped me with the transition back to work. When I picked my son up at the end of the day, I got detailed info on how his day was in terms of nap, bottle amounts and new abilities that he was learning throughout the day. Also, they are open until 6:30pm, which is a rarity in Park Slope! Do You Recommend? Highly recommend (Review date: December, 2011)

We've been taking our 10mos old son to BumbleBee since he was 3 months old. We have been very happy with the care he has received- the women are so nice, caring, creative and friendly. They have been respectful and accommodating of any requests we have made and have given us thoughtful feedback and suggestions too. I love their happy, bright, clean facility including a big, private back yard. The staff seems well versed in childhood development concepts and we are convinced they are an instrumental reason why our son is so easy going and good about his schedule. Also, we appreciate that they are tech savvy. They're comfortable communicating by text and e-mail as well as phone- always very responsive and communicative about how things are going and what our son needs. Sometimes, when our son is being extra cute, they snap a photo on an iPhone and send it to me which is the highlight of my day. For mother’s day, they gave me a disc with all of the photos they’d snapped of him since he was a little baby which was an incredibly thoughtful “above and beyond” gesture.

We send our 5 mo old son to Bumble Bee daycare on 4th ave and Carroll st. We just recently started there but we are happy with it so far. They take babies and your rate is determined by the # of hrs per week you will need. The owners and women who work there are wonderful and very educated in childhood education.
