ISO Blackout Window Treatments
We got honeycomb-style shades from Budget Blinds and they were able to customize them easily to fit our tall windows. They told me cords are actually illegal in NY starting this summer so you don't need to worry about that. We did all cordless except for our tallest windows, which have a pulley that is tight and fixed to the wall. More expensive than Home Depot but cheaper than the Shade Store and good customer service. We worked with Nathan, nrudy@budgetblinds.com- Nathan Rudy fixed our broken shades last year for a reasonable price: +1 (917) 692-4155
Window blinds
I’ve used budget blinds in the past - for both black out shades and regular shades. The black out shades started to give out after about 10 years - they’re heavier and so they started to separate. But having just replaced my windows 12 years after moving in, I *did* just decide to use them again. They’re not cheap but they have a lot to choose from (middle of the road choices, not especially high end).
