Review from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: We had a fantastic experience sending our son to the Two’s program at Brooklyn Treehouse. We couldn’t recommend this preschool enough. We are returning for 3K (a huge perk!) and hope to send our daughter to Treehouse the following school year. First of all, our son’s teacher was extremely warm, knowledgeable, and creative. She creates a thoughtful environment where children can use their imagination, take risks, and think critically. She comes up with novel ways to share the curriculum by changing the pretend play area, coming up with fun art activities, sensory play, books, and more. Our son has learned so much this year; his growth has astounded us. Additionally, we love the community! All of the teachers and office staff know our son by name and make sure they welcome him every day, even though he isn’t in their class. We also love the other families and have created new friendships. Highly recommend Treehouse! Review: We loved our experience at Brooklyn Treehouse Preschool. The school is quite small and intimate (one 2s classroom, two 3s (3-K) classrooms, and two 4s (Pre-K) classrooms, I believe), and the teachers end up getting to know the kids really well, even across classrooms. If you use the extended day care, the classes are sometimes combined. The teachers are so warm and caring, and they had great communication with the parents. Our son had a hard time transitioning to a full-time 3-K program and his teachers handled the difficult drop-offs with so much grace and professional care. The teachers upload pictures to a picture sharing app quite frequently, so we were able to see the activities that they participated in. We also received weekly email updates every Sunday for the upcoming week, with themes, activities, and special highlights. The school provides lunch and snacks through the DOE at no cost to parents, which was an unexpected but super helpful perk! Review: Absolutely amazing experience at Brooklyn Treehouse. Our twins just finished pre-K there after having gone through their free 3K program and our older daughter having attended 3K and Pre-K as well. Great administration, great teachers, excellent structure and learning agenda/itinerary. They now participate in free 3K and Pre-K which is amazing. They also supply morning snack and lunch which my kids loved. Overall, I would say this is the best daycare in the South Slope area and we feel so lucky to have been able to send all our kids there which has set them up for success for Kindergarten and beyond. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? I wouldn't change anythingReview from the Spring 2023 Early Education Survey
Review: My daughter attended the 2’s program during 2022-2023. Every one of her teachers was so warm and loving! The curriculum was amazing - each week there was a different unit (for example, community-based workers or biospheres) and the children would learn through play-based education. I could not believe all the things my daughter learned through the year! They also have a lovely backyard so everyday there was outdoor and movement time. Most importantly, my daughter felt cared and loved by her wonderful teachers! We are looking forward to 3K next year! Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hoursAny suggestions for 3K options right now?
Did you try Brooklyn treehouse? My daughter is in their 3k and they are wonderful.Seeking Feedback about Brooklyn Treehouse vs Giocare
I cannot say enough good things about experience with both our sons (now 7 and 9) at Brooklyn Treehouse. The head of school, Miss lisa is wonderful in every way and we loved the teachers in our years with The school. It’s small and intimate, very well run and they really get to know and care for your kid. I was only sorry they didn’t open an elementary school! A truly special place.Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey
Location: Park Slope How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 2 Review: My children loved the various activities and themes the camp planned each week. They had water days on Wednesdays, Thursday, and Fridays where the kids would play in the schools’ outdoor space. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? We did not receive any photos or updates during the day, which would have been nice. It would also have been nice if the morning snack and lunch were included in the program. Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? They strongly suggested wearing masks indoors and we always saw the children wearing them. The staff was always masked as well.Review from the Spring 2022 Early Childhood Education Survey

Location: 639 4th Avenue, Brooklyn Type of facility: Preschool Review: Brooklyn Treehouse has provided a wonderful, supportive environment for our child to grow, learn and thrive. The staff is incredibly caring and supportive. The school is very well run. Our daughter really excelled in the 2s class this year and can't wait to return next year for 3-K. Regular sensory play, art, fine and gross motor development were always incorporated into weekly lesson plans. What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours What would you change about the program, if anything? I would like there to be more school community and parental involvement although the pandemic has likely made that difficult. Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? Masks were worn, quarantine procedures were very reasonable and at home testing was required at times, encouraged at others.Review from the Fall 2021 Early Childhood Education Survey
Type of facility: Preschool through prek Review: We have loved our experience at Brooklyn Treehouse from 2s through pre-K. I really can’t speak highly enough of this school and it’s entire staff. It’s such a wonderful little community, and I’m already feeling sad that it’s my daughter’s last year. The teachers are so incredible, and true experts in early childhood development. Daily activities are so thoughtful and child led. Wonderful communication from the school, as well. What amenities does the facility provide? Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Nothing, except make it k-12 so we could stay forever!!Review from the Fall 2021 Early Childhood Education Survey
Type of facility: Preschool Review: Great teachers, very responsive to parents questions and concerns, focused on play. They offer extended hours, my kid loves the teachers and it seems to be a loving, caring facility. What amenities does the facility provide? Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? They could provide us a daily report whether the kid ate/slept so we know what to do at home. Is there anything you would like to add about how the school handled the pandemic? Everyone wears masks, great comunications, everything is cleaned and disinfected daily - one day I was the last parent to pick my kid up and I could see from a window once of the teachers spreading the toys my kid was just playing with for the next day. They added acrylic dividors for when they eat, I feel very safe with them.Review from the Fall 2021 Early Childhood Education Survey
Type of facility: Pre-K Review: We LOVE Brooklyn Treehouse. The space is great - plenty of room in the rooms, dedicated outdoor space and a movement room. The teachers are fantastic. They are super with developmental skills and challenges and devote a lot of attention to each child. They go above and beyond with sensory activities to make them fun and interesting for children. Our son is on the young end of the group and they have given him the safety and structure he needs. They are EXCELLENT at communication and safety measures. I truly can't say enough good things. We feel very lucky to be there. What amenities does the facility provide? Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? I would like them to walk out in the world (but they have an outdoor space where they go every day). Is there anything you would like to add about how the school handled the pandemic? They are very cautious and follow all CDC recommendations. We feel grateful for their high level of safety measures.Review from the 2019–2020 Daycare, Preschool, Pre-K, and K Survey
Review: Our son has been with Brooklyn Treehouse since he was 2 and is now in their Pre-K class. We have had a very positive experience here and our son has loved each year. The teachers are all warm and caring, especially when he had a hard time with drop-offs. They give productive feedback and ideas on how to work with him at home on areas he may need a little help in. We decided to send him back in person this year and we are SO GLAD we did. We have seen tremendous growth since he has been back. He is so interested in letters and art which was a struggle to keep him engaged with since COVID. He is so excited to see his best friends and play and actively tells us what he is learning about. The school has done a wonderful job with COVID precautions and have been able to keep each class isolated from one another and have a separate entrance for each classroom. Each child has their own box of supplies so there is limited cross-contamination. All of the children are wearing masks with no issues. We feel very comfortable with him attending. We are very happy with our decision to stay with Brooklyn Treehouse and would highly recommend. Review: Brooklyn Treehouse is a special place. We were in an unexpected childcare bind and they had one last T/Th slot. After visiting the colorful and welcoming space and spending time with Lisa, the most lovely and warm director, we jumped to enroll our son in the 2s (we looked at 10 different daycares/preschools). It’s been a few months now, and we are floored by our son’s development, which we attribute to his wonderful teachers and the sweet kids in his class. Also, Lisa, and her daughter Jessica, make everything so easy. They are flexible with schedule modifications, which is important to us, since we both work and have changing child care needs. Our son seems to love his time at Treehouse (he’s always talking about it) and will be returning for the 3s. Check out Brooklyn Treehouse! They have been really great during this pandemic. Very safe and communicative. Happy to answer more questions.South Slope pre-school ?
Our son is in UPK at Brooklyn Treehouse. We also did the 3s program there (after a year at Beansprouts, which we also really liked). We absolutely love Treehouse. It's been a lifeline during the pandemic. The head of school is very communicative about all the ups and downs and has been extremely careful about safety measures. Classes are small and the teachers are very warm and nurturing. It's a really nice group of parents, too.Preschool recommendations for almost 2s?
LOVE Brooklyn Tree House, my daughter (October birthday) started this year in the 2s program. Their first day of school can’t be until their 2yo birthday, but they’ll allow them to come a couple times a week (with caregiver) for yoga or music class from September on, to help them acclimate. Really warm, caring environment with top notch teachers.2's Programs South Slope
We love The Brooklyn Treehouse! Our son was in the 2’s program last year and loved it. He just started the 3’s program. The teachers are all wonderful and caring and the classrooms are warm and colorful. They also have extended hours which is so helpful for us. They have been very flexible when we need to change the hours/days he attends.Review from the 2018/2019 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
I love Brooklyn Treehouse. The Director Lisa is great. She is so nice and flexible. We got a spot without having to jump through hoops and when we needed to delay our start day she was really understanding. I love that she created a program that included all the best things she has learned over the years. There were elements of play and education and physical development. My daughter loved going there and made a ton of friends. They also have UPK so our daughter could stay there for UPK which was amazing. We ended up moving right before the start of UPK and missing out on UPK at Brooklyn Treehouse was one of the hardest parts of the move. Brooklyn Treehouse is truly lovely. Lisa, the owner, has chosen like minded teachers who create a fantastic environment for learning and exploring. My daughter has blossomed in their care. She is truly prepared for kindergarten. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours. What would you change? I wish it opened even earlier.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
Amazing child centered program. Both the director and the teachers are extremely gifted at addressing individual child needs. The school is also flexible and reasonable when it comes to changing schedules or needs. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
We switched over to Brooklyn Treehouse from a different 3s program since our daughter was unhappy and bored at the previous place, and it made a big difference. We liked that it's more play-based. The teachers are actively engaged in playing with the kids, there are always several options for different kinds of play/activities, and the facilities are new and clean. There's a small indoor play area for kids if it's too cold to go outside, a rooftop playground, and kids go to the 16th street playground when the weather is nice. Each week there are new themes for the kids to explore and they bring back lots of artwork. They get weekly music class and yoga. Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours. Sometimes are slow to respond to e-mails. Would love for them to supply meals just as pre-k does.Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey
My son was in the 2s-3s class and we love his teacher! She has well planned out weekly themes that are explored in ways so amazingly creative and hands on. They explore new textures and ways of making things every week. They work on solo and group art projects. My son has learned so much but even more importantly he feels safe and very happy. The director and her assistant are easy to talk to and to reach and are very helpful with flexible parent schedules. The older age classrooms are spacious and there is an indoor soft play room for bad weather days. They do yoga and live music every week and take tours of local businesses- the vet, the bakery. etc. We're really happy overall! Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours What would you change? I only wish they would have children remove shoes.Experience with District 15 UPK Schools?
I highly recommend Brooklyn Treehouse Our son has been there for two years and we lucked out that they also had UPK. The head of school is wonderful. Very experienced and has created a very warm, nurturing and creative environment for all the kids. I just wish she'd open up a Kindergarten class![Fall2015Babies] Brooklyn Treehouse
We have our son (currently in the 2's class) and our older son in UPK at Brooklyn Treehouse. Our older son was also there last year. I can't say enough good things about the school, the teachers and the Head of School, Lisa Armenato. She has decades of experience and has created a wonderfully welcoming, nurturing and creative environment for the kids. It manages to feel intimate without being stuffy, warm and really invested in the children's development. Lisa is an accessible head of school, who has been very responsive whenever we did have questions/concerns. She also took some time to share her own impressions around Kindergartens in the neighborhood and help us navigate that process for our older child. The teachers in all the classrooms seem to know the kids in the school beyond their class and I have really seen both my boys flourish there.Review from the 2016/2017 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey

Age: < 1 year Review: This is our first experience with preschool as my son turned 2 this year. The facility is great and the staff is fantastic. Lisa, how owns and runs the school is incredibly attentive and caring. She gives every student personal attention. My son's class has roughly 15 (max) students per day and has three teachers in the class. All three teachers are great with the kids and my son comes home excited each day. He has learned quite a bit this year and surprises us regularly with new information that he learned in school. They have been supportive with potty training and encourage good behavior with gentle and kind encouragement. The curriculum is based in learning through activity and play, which we really enjoy and believe our son gets more out of than a more rigid program would.Review submitted via the PSP Daycare/Preschool 2016 Survey

They go out of their way to get to know as much about the children and the parents as possible and create many family events so parents can be involved. They have music classes and rotate between different rooms throughout the day so they are not stuck in one room. The owner of the preschool is very nice, helpful and flexible to meet families needs.
