Shout out for Brooklyn Trails summer arts program
Brooklyn Trails still has openings for full weeks or drop in classes from 7/10-8/31, ages 2-3, and 4-9. My 2 children have attended the school year programs with BT and both (very different people!) loved their time in the park every morning. Classes run 9-1pm and are fully outdoors rain or shine. Nature hikes, science studies, lots of open ended play and art projects, story and song time, full and wonder-filled days. The teachers are skilled and lovely. Type of facility: Forest School Review: We adore Brooklyn Trails! it's a sweet little program located in Prospect Park. Keeping our daughter outdoors in a very small setting (6 kids, 2 teachers) has eliminated a lot of our Covid worries and kept her engaged with friends and her teachers. Sydney and Ellie are the most wonderful teachers, really engaging with each child on a personal level and inviting them to explore the natural world in a gently guided setting. Art and exploration are at the center of their play. Our daughter is so excited to go to school each day and comes home with art projects and a new song every week. She has learned so much and become far more social in a short time. What amenities does the facility provide? Has outdoor space, there is no indoor facility, this is a forest school with very limited hours (9-12) What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? more days and extended hours! Is there anything you would like to add about how the school handled the pandemic? It's all outdoors but they still encouraged mask wearing and hand washing.Amazing outdoor childcare
I want to share information about Brooklyn Trails, the incredible childcare program we've been a part of for the last almost year, for anyone interested in an outdoor program four younger kids. Brooklyn Trails is a fully outdoor arts and nature based program based in Prospect Park. The daytime program for fall is 9-12, M-F and open to 2.5-5yos. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful this program is. It's a small group with robust covid protocols. It's run by a group of the most amazing educators I've ever met, and my child has thrived and grown so much through being a part of it.
