We haven’t taken our almost 3 year old yet, but we have an appointment for her next month at Brooklyn Oak dental on 3rd street and 6th avenue. Our whole family including our almost 8 year old goes there. They are a wonderful practice and have just hired a pediatric dentist who we will be meeting for the first time next month at our daughter’s appointment. My older son has been seeing the main dentist since he started going to the dentist and we are very happy with them. (I still remember the time he had a pee accident in the play tent waiting for his appointment. Didn’t phase them!). I highly recommend them.Brooklyn Oak Dental

I have also had good experiences, the scheduling is a bit limited, but makes sense with only one doctor. My wife, me and 6yr old. Both hygienists I've had have been thorough but gentle. Dr. Muhammad is totally fine. We will bring the currently 3yr old when it's time.Brooklyn Oak Dental

I second Brooklyn Oak Dental! We have been taking my 7 year old there since his first dental appointment. He has sensory issues and they have been wonderful. We haven't taken my 2 year old yet but plan to once we get around to it. My husband and I also go there. I love Brooklyn Oak Dental Care on 3rd St and 6th Ave in Park Slope, which serves adults and kids. I haven’t yet taken my own 2yo (oops), but I’ve been going there myself for years and find it to be the most pleasant and competent dental office I’ve been to. I second Brooklyn Oak. My daughters and I all go there and really like the staff. I had my first and hopefully last root canal taken care of by Dr. Muhammad, and I had so much anxiety one day that I could’t breathe but they were patient and reassuring. I survived! We really loved Dr. Mohammad at Brooklyn Oak--so gentle with little ones and they have a special play area waiting room plus option of TV to watch during cleaning. We did had some billing / insurance trouble but it was resolved, though I would ask for details about insurance coverage. But I've actually been to two dentists with my 3.5 yr old (longer story, she had a chipped tooth) and her office was really superior and my daughter actually talks about how she can't wait to go back, sees Dr. Mohammad in the neighborhood and is so excited, etc.ISO recs for kids' dentist that accepts insurance

They suggested I might indeed be covered and looked me up across various dental plans to discover that I was fully covered. Dr. Muhammad was also the gentlest and most thorough dentist I'd ever been to, and I credit her with giving me some advice and info omitted by more perfunctory dentists that may save my teeth years down the line. Dr. Muhammad is the best dentist ever. My 3 year old son loves her so much I started going to see her. They are the most gentle dentist staff I've ever had. They make everyone else seem like sadists. I made my dental-phobic husband see her (he hadn't been to the dentist in about 10 years). Even he loves her, despite needing several follow visits to address various issues. Just want to give a shout out for Brooklyn Oak Dental. I took my 3 year old daughter there for her first appointment (and subsequent cleanings) and they made her super comfortable and it went so smoothly. I've since been back for myself and they even kept an eye on my younger daughter playing in their playroom while I got a cleaning. Couldn't have been easier and everyone there is beyond friendly. Yesterday I took my own son to a new dentist whom I learned about from PSP: Dr, Siama Muhammend, whose practice is Brooklyn Oak Dental Care. Within 5 minutes my 7-year-old said "Daddy, I love this Dentist!". The office is about as cozy as a dentist's office can be. The administrative assistant greeted us as we walked in with "You must be Micah" and gave a little tour. Later she asked if we had insurance when I told them I had just switched and thought probably had no dental, she took my healthcare card, looked me up in and, gleefully informed me that I was fully covered for the visit. Dr. Siama herself seemed perfectly competent and gentle, and my son is clamoring to come back as soon as possible (actually, that last part is not exactly true, although he will need to return for a filling in any case). I haven't yet used Dr Siama myself, so can only vouch by proxy.Re: need a dentist in park slope

We just started using Brooklyn Oak Dental, and they are amazing!! The doctor herself does the cleanings. I've truly never felt in better hands. She does kids and adults. A couple of weeks ago, I walked by the new dentist that has opened on Sixth Ave at 3rd Street--it's called Brooklyn Oak Dental--and it did not look scary. (I am British, so obviously I view dentistry as a form of witchcraft, and thus I had four fillings that had been in need of urgent attention for several years.) Reader, I made an appointment. The dentist, Dr Siama Muhammad is fantastic. She is gentle, knowledgeable and extremely skilled. In just two appointments I have had a thorough cleaning and all my fillings done (completely painlessly!).
