  • Boys dance class recommendations

    Brooklyn Music School is great!
  • Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Brooklyn Music School How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 7 and 5 Review: We loved the camp! The kids had set classes - piano, dance, improv, etc. They had time outside in Fort Greene Park and took great field trips. They had a show after each session which was so fun. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? They got their DOH permission to be outside late and it would have been good to have all summer.
  • Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey

Location: 125 St. Felix Street, Brooklyn How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6.5 Review: My child attended the Summer Institute. The curriculum seemed great, with drumming, dance, Loog guitar... but I'm not sure how much the children really got to learn because of the disorganization and constant influx of new students. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? The building is sadly very run down. The staff is sweet but poorly trained to deal with any conflict. In more than one instance the children were made to sit without moving or talking for an hour because of one student's misbehavior.
  • ISO: dance classes for 3yr old

I signed my 3yr old up for a creative movements class at Brooklyn Music School. It's a mix of dance elements and she gets dressed up in a leotard. She loves it. I had also done the parent toddler class at MMG and similarly wanted something she could do on her own.
  • [ANONYMOUS] Affordable local summer daycamps?

Brooklyn music school has a very good camp if your child is at all musically inclined. They do a little bit of everything, have good teachers, and i saw my daughters skills improve in just the 2 weeks she was there. they organize the camp into two-week units and have an impressive show at the end of the two weeks. They don't require you register that way but it helps. If you do early registration next year they give you a really good deal. but even without that it's pretty good.

My 5 year old daughter started Suzuki violin lessons this January with the Brooklyn Music School run by the lovely husband and wife team, Hagai Kamil and Jinah Park. They also teach piano. They are located right on 5th Ave at 3rd Street. We have had a really positive experience. My daughter loves it! I know they are starting to get ready for their Fall registration and so if you are interested you should contact them. These are not my friends, I am simply making a recommendation since I know a lot of parents in the area are interested in having their children learn a musical instrument. (March 2012)
