Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey
Location: Brooklyn Botanic Gardens How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 5 Review: Our rising kindergartener had a great time at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens summer camp. The camp is based in the Children's Garden and it was a truly gorgeous place to drop off each morning. Our son brought home fresh vegetables each day that he harvested in the garden. They did arts and crafts and other activities around the gardens, like scavenger hunts. The only downside to this camp is that it's W-F, 9am-1pm, so it really does not work as full-time childcare. But if your childcare situation allows you to do a part-time camp, this is a great one.Kids-friendly restaurant between BBG and Children's museum?
The cafe in the Brooklyn botanic garden has really good food. You also get a discount if you are a member.Best place to buy houseplants?

I did the BBG Trees & Saplings class with my son a few years ago. It may have changed since then but I found it really rushed and a bit disorganized. The kids only got a few minutes to actually work in the garden, we spent more of the class doing Circle Time or making snack. It was fine, but not something I would highly recommend.PSP Moderator Note

Seeds Location - BBG How old is your child? (or the age when he/she attended camp) Age: - 5 What did you/your child like about the summer camp? My daughters attended this program for two sessions this summer and learned so much about plants, vegetables, cooking. It's a very relaxed program that is not marketed as a summer camp but provides loads of time outdoors, different activities each day, and the kids come home after class with tons of things that they've "harvested." They made friends in the class, had great instructors, and learned a lot. I loved it because it gave some structure to the week but was very part time (9-12, wed and fri) so we were able to do other activities during the week together. What would you change about the program? It would be nice to have a 3 day/week option and if the children explored more of the bbg. Will you send your child back to this summer camp program next year? (Or would you if you could?) Yes Would you recommend this program to other parents for their child in the future? Highly recommend(no subject)
