- Review from the 2025 Birthing SurveyJeanette and Brittany were great. Brittany was there for my delivery and was super knowledgeable and supportive.
- Doula recommendations+1 to Marina Smith. She’s awesome.
- Doula recommendationsI worked with Marina Smith (marina.guides123@gmail.com) of the Brooklyn birth collective (https://www.brooklynbirthcollective.com/) - she and the other doulas and birth workers are so wise and provide phenomenal services, including childbirth education classes, newborn care, prenatal/postpartum groups, workshops about various parenting topics (including talking to children about bodies, sex, reproduction). I had such a great experience with Marina during my birth and postpartum period, and learned a lot from her and the other doulas in the groups, classes, and workshops. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they are.
- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyI cannot say enough good things about Jeanette and Mary (they have since added a third doula to their group, Claudia, who also seems wonderful, but we did not really work with). During the pandemic, they have worked to expand their practice as doulas from just working with individual clients to creating a community of expectant and new parents via virtual support groups and other activities which was and continues to be an incredible resource. They take an evidence based approach to birth and parenting and patiently dealt with even my most panicky of questions--it really feels like you are hanging out with cooler, more knowledgable friends. Mary attended our birth in person and it was a huge comfort and relief to have her there.
- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveySo grateful - knew their stuff plus they have a zoom group for birthing parents and then a separate zoom group for non-birthing parents, aka Dads, soooooo helpful
- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyMary was great - kind, helpful and (took some wonderful pics of my family right after birth!). She made me feel like I had a team which helped me feel confident in situation that I was nervous about as a first time mom.
- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyJeanette and Mary are incredible! The second we met them, we knew we wanted to have them as our doulas. Jeanette assisted my birth virtually because of Covid rules, but we still felt super supported. They run weekly group office hours for clients online, which was a major plus! They’re also always happy to answer questions via phone, text or email, and we never felt judged for asking certain questions or too many questions. Also we loved having two doulas because we could pull from more knowledge and expertise. I’ve already recommended them to several moms-to-be. Definitely hire them!
- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyJeanette was integral to my delivery - she supported me and my husband so well during a long overnight labor. She also was a calm and helpful presence when I had meconium in my waters when they broke at home.
- Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience SurveyJeanette was amazing. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone interested in having the assistance of a doula. She and the other member of her team, Mary Pless, were informative and helpful during my pregnancy, answering a wide variety of questions and pointing me to a variety of resources. Jeanette attended my birth and was truly invaluable to both me and my husband. I credit much of my positive experience to her calming and encouraging presence. Postpartum, she and Mary have remained available and continue to answer questions and troubleshoot months later. I couldn't have asked for a better support team!
