    REVIEW: The staff at Brooklyn Beans is kind, playful and nurturing. The optional enrichment activities are excellent but my child also just has fun in the regular after school program. The kids all go out to play again in the yard for at least a half an hour which my child loves. During many holidays and all half-days there are optional add ons. It is very well - run! Skills learned: Bonding with other kids at PS 39 across grades, various enrichment experiences (karate, art, cooking). What would you change? A few more enrichment options particularly in movement (dance), technology and sports. Age of child: 6

    Review: Brooklyn Beans is run by caring and committed staff. My son loved his time. He enjoyed the enrichment add ons as well as the general after school. I liked that they got an additional half hour of outdoor play every day. It also served to build up friendships and deepen PS 39 bonds. What would you change? Having more a chance to meet the enrichment and other counselors

    Location: PS39 Name of the specific program, if applicable: Brooklyn Beans How old was your child during the Fall 2022 semester? 5 What kind of program is it? Afterschool in-house at ps39 Review: We did 2 days here, and this is prior to them adding cool new enrichments. I love that there is use of the playground for outdoor time. And that it’s a one stop shop for ps39 kids. Will have a revised review after winter session where we are doing lots of enrichments! A la CBE What skills did your child develop? Jewelry making What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? He was a bit bored without any enrichment. Home base is in the cafeteria and it’s a bit dark and stuffy down there. But I get that that’s the best place for home base. I’m looking forward to winter session with soccer, gymnastics, chess and science!
